Haven't a problem with him in the squad mate would only use him as a sub though - lads not got the fight in him for 90 minutes in this new Everton

I agree he should be used mostly off the bench. However there is maybe some merit to him starting on the left sometimes then bringing Townsend on to run and physically and mentally tired full back. One thing for certain whenever or wherever he plays I would only be expecting 30-60 minutes from him. However if these cameos are well managed they could be very useful in getting us a result.

Benitez keeps switching his system for one. I'm convinced that 3-4-3 he played yesterday works better for us if we have a ball player in the front three who wants to drop in and keep hold of possession and progress the ball for us.

We shouldn't be starting the same players every game, it becomes predictable. That's what having a squad is about.

For example, v Villa on Saturday, I'd actually think Iwobi behind Richarlison with Gray and Townsend one the flanks in a 4-2-3-1 kind of shape would be the way to go. But having James in reserve is always going to be helpful.

I dont see it myself. I dont see who we leave out. Gray and Townsend dont deserve to be dropped either. The James clamour is bizarre.

It's not clamour to have him start. It's about seeing him in the squad and him being in each squad he's fit for.

Only in certain games, mind. I think v Norwich at home should absolutely be one of these matches.

They are tosh, we shouldn't just be thinking pace and work rate does it for us. It didn't for 60 minutes yesterday.

I think very few are saying James should be a guaranteed starter every week

He should be in the squad as an option off the bench for definite though, as he brings special qualities that could prove useful in certain situations

You could bring in James for one of the CB's. Gomes done well, but it was more the positional changes and system changes that effected the game. James can get into the positions Doucoure did in the second half, with Doucoure and Allan behind him.

Not really. Richarlison needs to sit behind an aerial striker like a Dom or Rondon. Do you take Gray or Townsend out? No. Doucoure needs to be all over the field and free.

Yeah he does not track back enough to play out wide for Rafael, nor does he have the pace to do it for 90 in what Rafael wants

Not sure why some are moaning. You don't play James against a team like Burnley. You saw what they did to Richie would have been 10 times worse with James. Burnley are a dirty team and we would have lost with him in the team.
