2021/22 James Rodriguez

He's one of the best players we've had in the PL era, and with him going out, we've signed Townsend, Rondon (both older than James), Begovic, Lonergan and Gray... Yayyyyyyy

It's more to me what it says about Everton. How we just give up on things. A year ago, we coincided the James signing with launch of Spanish social media channels, huge numbers of people tuning into our games in Colombia etc.

It's like just giving it all up and some fans' revisionism that he was actually crap.

I'm fed up of Everton being tosh, Tim, and we are crap. I looked at that front four yesterday and despaired. It's so bang average, but it's alright because they run around a lot.

DCL and Richarlison were both injured take any side outside the top 7 or so's best two forwards and they wont have much on the pitch.

You haven't been happy since fixture one mate and its sad tbh.

If sat in 6th with 3 wins out of 5 is this demoralising then maybe you should take a break from Everton for a while?

Things could be much worse like watching us last season or under Silva/Alladyce.

That's fine.

Let's see what former player from Newcastle 2016-19 that Benitez goes to in January.
The club need to be making transfer decisions collectively allowing this manager or any to keep only bringing in "their' players won't work.

I'd rather James stayed and contributed just can't see it can you? In that case we need to get any part of that 200k off the books there's a reason we spent peanuts this summer

I'm well aware we are crap lol

But we were crap last year too with him in our squad. The idea he is one of our best players of the PL era is just nonsense. One of the most talented of course, but not even in the top 50 for contribution.

Our front 4 yesterday looks a lot better with our 2 top strikers. We are decimated by injuries and thats a recruitment issue.

Richarlison and DCL are crucial players missing yet people are more concerned about James. I just dont get it.

Yeah and they'll be out for the majority of the next month.

I have been happy with the wins. I've not been happy with the general level of performances, Brighton and Leeds aside which I've said many times were good performances.

We were crap for the first half v S'ton, crap for an hour v Burnley and crap yesterday, and really, really crap against Huddersfield.

I'm happy with how we've started the season but there's no 'progress' that I can see. Just players running about. And as we saw yesterday, players running about doesn't mean you do well.

Gray is fast becoming a great investment.
We all want to move forward, but James was never the answer, nor is splashing half a billion on average players...

Well all summer we let Benitez bring in exactly who he wanted.

Even down to not getting a back up forward in right until the last minute, and that back up forward happening to be somebody who is 32, has played in China/Russia for the last two years, and last kicked a ball in May.

There's no structure. It's give it to the manager and let him have control. Benitez even turned down the right-back options Brands came up with. So genuinely, what's the point?

The lad IS boarding today yes, but Hamez is not on the plane. So that photo may have been old, or James may have been arrived from somewhere or he was there to greet someone etc.

When did I say he was on the plane?

How could he arrived from somewhere if he trained on Friday? Why would he go to an airport terminal with a rucksack on to meet somebody ?

Open your eyes….
