Started out on 80k and by the end of the season he was on roughly 250k.

Literally the first reports were that he halved his wages to sign for Carlo and was on 76k. Then it was suggested to be about £120k. Then all of a sudden, when Benitez wanted him out, it was £200-250k.

People are fools.

The days of signing players on astronomical wages need to be over. Especially for players who are only available half the time.

For what it's worth I think he'd come here on sensible wages I just reckon it's a none starter with us signing Ndiaye in similar roll.

Also am not sure how keen Dyche would be to have "superstar" in the dressing room.

Don’t forget Dele in the number 10 role as well . And it’s where Doucoure plays for us (and he really cannot play any closer to our goal).

I mean it was surreal and fun while it lasted but I’m guessing we all need to let this one go.

Indeed please let this go !!! James in a Dyche team is not going to work guys. Also his injury record showed you can not build a team around him.
To end James gives me Gareth Bale vibes: great for his country, but less commitment for his club.

If a remember we actually played James wide right most of the time, so that he could fire those crossfield passes to Digne on the left, though he did drift inside to find space.

I would love to see him back, sportrac says he was on £90k a week last time he was here. I doubt we could afford to give him that, probably closer to £50k to £60k a week.

The challenge will be on the fitness front. James generally plays around 25 games a season and would Dyche ever consider him "fit". im not sure that he would.
