Always liked the lid when ive watched him, hes a battler, but im cautious of anyone coming out of that Burnley defense. as the system favours the defenders everything is compact and narrow there.

I think the lad is a good player mind and i think we pulled this is off surprisingly with a fair bit of interest in the lad.

He says in his interview that prior to Burnley he was known as a ball-playing defender, then once he got to Turf Moor had to change his game. Maybe the way Frank likes to play is actually how he also likes to play but just couldn't at Burnley?

I fear him less than I feared Keane.

Now its finally happened, I’m a lot more happy with this signing that I thought I’d be.

Taking all things into account (including fitness), our best centre back cost nothing. This is the way forward for now.

Expect him to be installed as captain as a soon as Coleman’s first minor injury occurs. Will upset a few but it’s part of the cleansing. Took the crowd to wake them up last year which is a joke. Coleman failed, Pickfords shouting couldnt gee them up. Took Iwobi to show them the effort required and Frank to question their testicles. But someone who would tear the strollers a new hole mid-match would have had them safe in March. I really hope he does that.

Or…. He could be Everton’d and ACL done next week and set for life.
 

Excellent signing. Exactly what we need. Great footballer with some steel about him. Another captain candidate who will make those playing alongside him better players. Now let's get a pacy forward and 2 centre mids.
 
We now have a defender that can defend set pieces... It's a very special time! As mentioned by a few his leadership qualities are much needed. We've had big genderless panties running about in our squad for far too long.

Decent player, reasonable cost overall.
At this point we may have slightly strengthened our defence but we have seriously weakened our attack.
Much more work to do for Thelwell.

Brentford where they signed him from have a model of strong ball players and he was one of their better players, i think hes comfortable enough with ball at feet mate.
