they finished 6 points ahead of us. They've spent almost as much money as we have since returning to the PL and 100m of that was in the summer just gone and they still only managed to finished 6 points ahead of us after we had the season from hell with a mishmash of a squad.
All these signings may suddenly work out but they can't keep throwing big money and wages at players in the hope of a top half finish... we know that better than anyone.

Everton have to accept that it's going to be a long process for us. Realistically our goal for next season is to be safely 8th-14th and build from there.

The very fact they signed Digne shows they are not well ahead of us. Digne was one of a glut of much and muchness players at Everton. Has he been missed? Not really, no. Has he set Villa alive? Not really, no. He's a mediocre player on massive money. If that's the level Villa are operating at, they are definitely no better than us. They practically are us.

Final note. DECLARED PLAYER ONLY salaries for the season 20/21 for all Premiership clubs £1346m. Total active premiership players 524. £1346m(total salaries) divided by 524 (active players) = £2.56m divide this by weeks in the year (52!!) =£0.049m = £49000 (£50k) average.

Now I understand that their are bonuses and averaged out each player may get £1m a year, but being at Everton they get nothing!!!

Now is Tarkowski that good that he is worth double the average premierships salary knowing he is 29 and its his last contract so will probably want four years and he did not keep his team up with his defensive and leadership skills, that is the point of the thread and not my maths, thank you and goodnight.

He'd get 3 years. If he's on 90k a week, then there's no fee as he's a free transfer, you're looking at about £15m all in. It's about what you'd expect.

Konsa is the superior player aside from heading.

With Carlos joining, will they also still go for Tarkowski and Bassey?

Ideally we get Tarkowsli but if Villa get both surely their players will be for sale.

They will be needing to sell a couple this window like Douglas-Luiz as well.

Simply because Mings is left footed, its the only reason he gets picked for England.
