Really smart Signing for Everton.

He's marshalled that back line at Burnley superbly at times, along with Mee.

Such a danger from set pieces also.

On a free? No brainer.

Agreed.

For a big fee ofcourse not, but on a free, when Mina will mostly likely go for a fee. It's a reduction in wages, a fee coming in without spending. May allow movement elsewhere on the pitch and he';s a decent defender. He priorities defending.

Let's face it its hard to suggest any of our defenders this season have prioritised defending have they?

Nobody is buying mina...on a free possibly but there will be no fee for us.

If you brought him in he's already a level above all of you're centre backs, and as bad as that sounds you need that after performances this season mate.

He'd bring leadership and composure into that back line, with him Mykolenko and maybe integrating Patterson you have a decent looking back 4, still think you need another to pair with him mind you.

Summary from a mate whos a burnley fan;

  • On a free is excellent
  • Performances over last 6 months have been immense
  • Great character, got injured but came back for final 2 games not 100% trying to get them out - potentially risking a good move in summer
  • Can play with both feet, not petrified of the ball
  • strong and a proper defender
All that said he is a in a similar unit to what Keane was, defensive and defending foremost. Mate is usualyl quite honest about the burnley players. Wont overhype anyone and accepts most of their squad are pretty average.

Fir me the difference is simple, Tarkowski organises, Keane needed to be organised, huge difference

Mina is better. Comfortably.

He's just made of spaghetti.

Got to tighten back line, it's horrendous and again relegation form for next season if not addressed. Was discussing the merits of him this morning in the main transfer thread. This lad has the best record in clearances from crossed balls into the box be live or dead ball in the PL.
And dispatch either Keane or Mina, neither are reliable be it different reasons.

I'm still not totally convinced with him (Tarkowski). It all depends how Frank wants to play. If he wants to play rigid with a deep back line then he could be decent, but then Michael Keane will be good playing like that as well. It's when you play a higher line that this type of player is exposed and really I don't think Tarkowski is any better. He's just been playing in a style more suited to his qualities.
