2024/25 James Tarkowski

I applaud his willingness to play with injuries, unlike Onana being a bit sore last year for crucial games, but his back looks in bits. He’s no whippet but he looks visibly stiff. You can’t play through a dodgy back at the pinnacle of football lugging all that muscle around when the slightest extra half second in changing direction means a goal conceded.

He could have recovered by now, missing a few games before/after an international break, and our new centre back could have played 3 or 4 games by now and a valid option. Says equal amounts about Dyche’s stubbornness and about how O’Brien looks every day at FF. I’ve no doubt he’d play if the coaching staff thought we could keep clean sheets with him on the pitch.

Tarky has been excellent since he came, and deserves massive credit for Branthwaite’s development. Him being off the pace and unfit is a nightmare no-one at the club seems to have accounted for, but should have planned for.

If his injuries he carried into the season are still at him and effecting his performances now be a good time to rest him. Either way probably shouldn't be starting the next game

Silly that he is continually selected even while he’s still carrying knocks which is why his form has suffered, along with the absence of Jarred.

If only the club had signed a £17 million pound young cb who has just completed a full season in France’s top flight, playing the majority of matches, and who also had a decent pre season with us…..nah, we’ve got zero options and have to play players with limbs falling off.

Think he may have dropped the wrong man for JB.
I expected Keane to stay in for Tarkowski last week, Keane is a yellow away from a ban though, tarks 2. If that has any bearing on any thinking i would'nt know, but doubt it. He proved right on HT that he has to stay awake as well as stopping those silly mad slide tackles

Definitely. Gotten the wrong side of Antonio at least three times. Giving the ball away is one thing, pointing as Antonio runs right across his face in the 18 is quite worse.
When you take into account his madness against Newcastle and his needless lunge last week against Southampton (both of which he semi got away with) it all points to a guy who just isn't thinking straight on the pitch right now.

Needs dropping. He is making big mistakes every game now. Very lucky not to give up a goal on that terrible pass and lucky nothing more came of him getting beat by Antonio up the sideline where Branthwaite bailed him out.

Echoing his boss and mate in messaging here. This loser mentality comes from the manager and now extends to the captain and onto the pitch during games.

This fella is supposed to be captain and pretty sure you would not hear Seamus (or JP) trotting out such pathetic loser drivel. Should not be captain. Give it to JP until when/if Seamus is back.
