I would still put money on Distin being number one until he really screws up, despite Stones being far far better than him and Distin costing us pretty much every goal we concede now.
 
Montoya's agent has confirmed to Italian press that he will leave Barca in January and they are already talking to teams in Serie A, Bundesliga and the Premier League.

why? he dropped distin earlier in the season due to poor form after swansea in the cup. wasn't even on the bench, he's only been playing lately whilst the other two centre backs are injured.

Distin was poor most of last season as well and yet still came into this season as first choice and it took a LOT to drop him. I hope I am wrong but there seems a certain reticence with Martinez to make him number one.

Stones only got his run of games by jags and alcaraz getting injured. In fact he preferred alcaraz over stones in many matches when jags or distan couldn't play(when alcaraz was available).

What is beyond belief is that you claim he doesnt play the youngsters; well sorry but if he didnt and these injuries had all occured, why didnt he sign players on free transfers i.e. experienced professionals?

Luke Garbutt hasnt played because Baines is the best left back in England.

He has signed Rom, McCarthy, Besic, Robles (all young) as well as tie young players such as Stones, Barkley, Ledson, Browning to new deals. He has also loaned young players such as Atsu and Del boy.

Yeah of course so he never signed kone, alcaraz and McGeady then?

so he hasn't given new deals to osman and hibbert instead of phasing them out?

he didn't choose hibbert as LB, bloody LB over Garbutt then? he isn't playing distin who is costing us pretty much a goal a game over Browning?

ross going no where? haha you utter fool so why have chelsea, city and united been after him for years then? and he has dropped him in his best position and continually played him out wide, where he is useless. until guess what? mccarthy got injured and Barry got suspended and he had to shift him back into the middle and low and behold we have a player again.

regardless of what you think it is just plain fact that martinez only played half of the young players he has out of necessity rather then design.

you honestly telling me besic would of played as much as he has if it weren't for injurys and suspension?

also there is a difference between young players and youth players.

The fact that some it wanna be who spends all of his time on here chatting crap so people on the Internet will care about him. saying I chat crap really is to much for me.

With your knowledge for the game I suggest you quit whatever it is you do and go into football management.

Stones only got a look in when heitinga getting sold, alcaraz was injured and so was distin. so when every other defender wasn't available then he got his first start In january.

del we had two other wingers who are extremely injury prone at the start of last season. that's right injurys forced del into the starting line up.

Ledson would of played at hull but he didn't. If I got all the numbers for the lottery I would of won it last week.

Browning has only had 10 minute cameos when hibbert couldn't play any more.

Luke Garbutt has only played because of injury to baines and even then he played hibbert over him at times.

We have been blessed with good young players who have taken there opportunities when presented them but I don't belive that is because martinez is some youth bringing through god. I belive that quite a lot of them have been forced through injury or suspension to actually give them those chances.

Don't understand the mindset that would exert that much energy looking for negatives. Bobbys not a god of anything but he has used the youth and seems to pay more attention to our youth setup than the last guy. He is only just under a season and a half with the club. You don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. With a bit more time and a couple more transfer windows we will have the kind of team he really wants, and I am very confident it will be pretty youthful.

I've wanted him in ahead of Alves at Barca for a few seasons now, but wouldn't think we'd be spending that kind of money for a backup for Coleman.
