what about - Szczesny personally dont rate him any more than howard but i think he will be at a fair price.

also khedhira contract it pretty much up him and james mccarthy in the middle - just saying

left wing - Lucas Piazon from frankfurt untested but looks amazing be about 6mil or so

edited - just noticed that ANDRÉ AYEW contact runs out in june 25 years old

Khedia - Got absolutely no chance of getting him.

Piazon is on loan from Chelsea and is very highly rated. No chance we'd get him cheap nor this month.

Szczesnys on about 65k week which is ridiculous for an average keeper

and khedira is on over 100k, plus most of the worlds top teams will be in for him

Money off course matters but we can't out pay Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs. Maybe the continental teams.

As for the Sanchez case. I think you also have to take into account their wage structure and not all players value more money over other factors. If they did then the Russian teams would win the CL every year.

all true mate.

But hyperthetically, we increase our wage structure one time to sign better players, finish 4th and then get a massive cash boost come in, would that be not beneficial to the way the club is run? We could then not invest in thr team as much and allow the cash flow to improve and generate our cash that way for the club. All for one big push to get quality players in the team.

Hyperthetically speaking of course, and not now as 4th is gone for us.

I don't know how credible this suggestion would be but since he moved to Fiorentina from Bayern, Mario Gomez just hasn't hit the heights he did. Surely he could recapture some form and do well here? He is a different type of striker to what we have and will do well I feel. Shouldn't be too expensive either

I rate Gomez, but I don't think he's what we need right now.

Would rather the money go towards a winger, defender or keeper.

I don't see we need another striker to not supply? Rom was very good last night IMHO. He and Kone plus Cameo's from Eto'o (who was poor) should see us right with goals coming from other sources too (good in theory )

However, I do like Gomez, just don't think we need him right now.

I agree it is the back that needs sorting that is where the money should e spent.

Totally. Distin should never start a game again. Manage Stones wisely next few weeks (prob do a hammy - everyone else does) and use Alcaraz sparingly (if at all). Jagz looks better with Stones. Not sure what all the fuss about Van Dijk is - Scottish Prem is so poor at moment its unreal so not a great benchmark. Might aswell sign a Championship defender as the standard they play against and with is superior.

Take it you would not be keen on Reid?

And if we fail we would need to do a fire sale which could screw the club for decades. It's probably best to do what we are doing. Pick up the right players when they become available for the right price and keep the squad ticking over with experienced players.

Quite right.

Lest we end up like QPR - full of overpaid, overyped flops. Our model is working.
