Taken from Sky Sports - so Salah appears available for loan and if we wouldn't fork out £8m for a young, promising defender in this days crazy market then there's something wrong there.

SALAH'S CAPITAL SWITCH?

Queens Park Rangers are hoping to be able to take out-of-favour Chelsea wide man Mohamed Salah on loan until the end of the season.

The west London club are desperate for some pace on the wings and the 22-year-old has made just the 13 Premier League appearances since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Swiss champions FC Basel a year ago.

BLACK CATS WONT PAY £8M FOR HOOPS STAR

Sky sources say that Sunderland watched Celtic defenderVirgil van Dijk in action at Kilmarnock on Monday, but just as in the summer, the north-east strugglers are reluctant to pay £8m for the player in this month’s transfer window.

We should be sniffing around Winston Reid in my opinion. He looks like a Porsche compared to the couple of clapped out Lada's we keep playing.

Would it not be in the clubs best interest to splash out just once in a window to secure talent to take us to the next level?

For example we sign Shakiri from Bayern, cost low hopefully but clearly a much better standard of player than what we have. sign an experienced defender and whoever else we may need. Spend 20-30 million in a push signing quality over quantity and have a first team that come february we can push on and spend a few months develop a team that can play to our style and to each other.

The difference between athletico and dormund compared to ourselves is that they have that calibre of players, through good scouting or by paying that bit extra. Mardrid went out and spent money on falcao to replace aguero, then again on costa, then again on mandukivic. that is why they can stay competitive, we need to do that.
I think we need to just buy the player whenever they become available. It doesn't matter whether it's January or the Summer.

The problem with Everton is that we're looking at the same players as teams like, Sevilla, Valencia, Inter, Liverpool, Spurs etc so from the player's perspective we're normally quite low down on that list so we just have to hope that when we do go for a player those teams aren't looking/desparate for someone in that position at the time so we have the advantage of first team football.

Otherwise we're looking at the likes of the Scottish, Dutch, Croatian, Greek leagues to players that are cheaper but with more uncertainity but at least we're top of the mini league of West Ham, Stoke, Swansea etc. You can normally get good bargains but it's hard to attract the top attacking talents as they've normally been snapped up as teenagers and we refuse to do that because we need to secure our 7th place finish.

Van Dijk, Karius, a winger on loan (or Atsu to suddenly become useful, as he finally looked for two runs before getting injured when he last played).

See but money talks in football. Sanchez may have picked london over liverpool but another 30-40 grand a week would have him rolling around the albert dock instead.

Point is we put the money up to sign the players and get them to come, whether spurs liverpool etc are interested or not. right now we are in a danger of falling out the league, yet also were in danger of getting 4th last year. Two extemities that quality players in the squad would have resolved for us.

I would love us to sign another arteta/piennar/cahill/mirallas on the cheap but great players, but sometimes in a perfect world we would stump the cash up and just go for it. I have said this for years and we just have never done it. last year was stop gaps and loan, this year spent big and then the odd player.

Money off course matters but we can't out pay Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs. Maybe the continental teams.

As for the Sanchez case. I think you also have to take into account their wage structure and not all players value more money over other factors. If they did then the Russian teams would win the CL every year.

I was thinking after last night, if some club came in with a good offer for Baines i would seriously think about it and let him go, after all we have replacements in Oveido and Garbutt, both younger and fitter. It would generate some funds for the transfer market.

As per the news reported by Groucho could be good.

what about - Szczesny personally dont rate him any more than howard but i think he will be at a fair price.

also khedhira contract it pretty much up him and james mccarthy in the middle - just saying

left wing - Lucas Piazon from frankfurt untested but looks amazing be about 6mil or so

edited - just noticed that ANDRÉ AYEW contact runs out in june 25 years old

Not bad shouts but like you said don't think szczesny is much of an improvement considering he'd probably cost a decent amount
