No idea where the Carlos Vela link came from (because Moyes is there? *shrug*) but he is a very good player - not sure we'd have enough ££ though - and those who say he hasn't done it in the prem when he was at Arsenal really need to a) look at the amount of game time he got, and b) look at the age he was. Whenever I saw him for Arsenal in the cups he looked ridiculous, was like the master of chipping.

no link mate was just conversation based on me saying i'd like him

Am I the only one not sold on Marshall, was amazing last season, especially in the last couple of months of the season. But before last season he was just a "Championship keeper". By reports he's been pretty average this season for Cardiff.

Sometimes keepers can hit a rich vein of form and just play out of their skin for a patch (Howard in the World Cup).

Whilst at his best last season he was unreal I just don't feel he's shown his best or sustained his best level for long enough to warrant been good enough. I think he'd be quite a risk.

Perhaps because he now has a "championship defence" in front of him? Surely that has to affect his performances.

Not only that, but he isn't testing himself against some of the best strikers in the world week in week out. That could have an effect on his mentality.

He really is a good keeper.

You can't really use that though, you could then say he's got Championship strikers shooting at him then.

Look at him last season, had a really poor defence infront of him but was still amazing.

There's no reason if we did sign him he won't preform like he did last season, it's just he's only played that good consistently for one season. That's what puts some worries in the back of my head.

My first memory of him was away at the Nou Camp watching him single handedly stop Barca scoring an absolute bucketful against Celtic.
Would support this signing.
6'3. Been around the block. British. Entering his peak in the next two years or so.

Oh by the way any Nolito fans he's playing right now, came on as a sub, playing okay, just smacked crossbar, still not the answer though I feel.

Edit - Oh and he just dived like an absolute girl. Definite no now.

Haha you called me out for commenting on an an article I hadn't read and I corrected you, you've been trying to dig yourself out of a hole ever since, I don't think me pointing out that Big Nev likes to make controversial statements is particuarly well controversial, plenty of similar opinions here https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/ross-barkley.39988/page-1182 anyway this is off topic and getting a bit boring now so goodnight to you x

Thanks for the advice.
