Eto'o is as good as gone, Mirallas is waiting till the summer, Garbett is counting down his contract to leave on a free, now fans want Coleman gone and will take £30m for Barkley!

Jesus what has happened to our season and senses!

We want the best for Everton but selling our best player doesn't mean we will replace them with better because let's face it pretty much any money we get now will go towards "Operation Stadium Part 3: The F#ck Up Returns"

Why did our fans get so irate when we changed the badge to lose the logo on our crest if we are just happy to go with it?

Nothing but the best is good enough UNLESS we make a bit of cash
It's the players fault, if they played better then we'd be battling for top 4, then they'd stay...

I really believe this season is a blip,if we can get the points to stay safe and give the Europa league a good shot,we might get lucky and win it who knows. As for the Coleman situation is there any concrete evidence that he's going or wanting to go? The same with Mirallas and Garbutt (the last being very un proven at this level). With Coleman I know he attacks well, but even with Hibbert RB we were knocking on the door of Europe most seasons with moyes and Hibbert probably one of the least attacking full backs, also our supply from the wings this year has been disappointing,Baines misses Pienaar in front of him and Coleman hasn't got a trust worthy defending Rw in front of him and we have been found out by other teams a bit as well.So all in all if they even want to go,we can get decent replacements for decent money or even give browning a run in the team Robles has improved with a few games, there's always options. This season Colemans been poor, mirallas has been good but injured a lot and Garbutt looks ok but who knows if he will be good enough.

You seem intelligent, albeit a tad too negative for me, so I struggle to understand why you don't understand why players leave Everton (and other clubs too), so here's a little clue :

££££££
€€€€€€€
$$$$$$$$$

The first two are sometimes referred to as "Champions League ambitions"......
Appreciate the compliment. I think. In what way am I negative?
I think my comment you quoted from memory was one of a few in a late night conversation with @LinekersLegs.

I think we are saying the same thing.

Just don't read anything at all positive in your posts....simple observation. But, we all have opinions. I prefer the glass half full to the glass half empty. In my very humble opinion, following Everton isn't solely about winning and the joy it brings....but again, all about opinions.

If you look at Southampton, who have spent wisely, who would have thought losing your core of players would have them challenging at the top end of the table.
I thought they would do well although not that well. I was impressed who they bought.

However Martinez has been here 18 months and 3 windows and I've yet to see any kind of transfer nous from him. His 3 successful signings are 2 players who had already played for him and guy who stood out at the World Cup who any moron could tell was a class act.

His transfer dealings are probably the most disappointing element of his reign. When he first came I expected us to mine La Liga and Germany for young technical players that could take us to the next level and build on the team of Moyes. Instead he has put all his faith in older previous class players and been unable to judge when they're no longer up to it.

I have faith in Martinez. He's a young manager and I suspect like Moyes would have who went through something similar at Utd will learn and go on to great things for us but right now I would prefer to keep our best players till the summer.

I'll agree I can state things some times that I believe to be reality that some will read as negativity. Like when I criticize the Board, or my thoughts on McGeady. But all those are written with the view to see Everton have regular seasons like last season. We deserve better as a fan base. I don't think we are getting it.
The funny thing is that in real life I am the most positive of people. I think sometimes when you write something , the words don't show the context or intention of how they were meant to be read. Words can be brutal.
But, I will from now on be more careful with what I write.
Drinks are on me :)

Great post mate. Totally agree. I was hoping we would see more Deulofeu type signings in the squad.
I hope we are both wrong but am losing hope ( and patience) with his ability in the transfer market. I want the man to succeed though so hope we are all pleasantly surprised next summer.

Rubbish just because someone earns 70k a week doesn't mean it's always for money. Arteta took a paycut to leave. I understand that players want to test themselves at the highest level and win trophies. They want the same as us. The only difference is they can change clubs :-)

Players, and more specifically their agents, move clubs to earn. It's a fact I grant you that, Liverpool excepted, the bigger payers are the clubs with greater potential to win something. It's also a fact that only one club can win the CL in a season, likewise the EPL.
Money motivates moves....if you think it doesn't at their level then you are misguided.

I don't think adversus is trying to say it's not a factor at all but not the primary reason. Of course you'll get players who go to Dubai and Russia for the cash but most players move clubs to try to win, just happens that the winning clubs usually have the most money.

Money makes the world to round.

Money is a byproduct of success. Successful people aren't driven by money alone. If they where they would never make it. The agents job is to get his client the best deal which means the club he wants to go to and then as much money as he can.

Some players cash in at some point with moves to the Middle East or Russia but if it was all about the money the German and Spanish leagues wouldn't be dominating Europe.
