...approximately one quarter way through and here’s the rumours for day 8 of the January transfer window;

- According to The Daily Mirror, Crystal Palace are planning a renewed bid for Everton striker Oumar Niasse having failed to land the player in the summer.

- The Mirror also claim that Everton’s pursuit of Steven N’Zonzi from Sevilla has stalled, hence the interest in Watford midfielder, Abdoulaye Dacoure.

- Calciomercato.com report Everton are stepping up their interest in Celtic striker, Moussa Dembele.

- Sunday’s edition of A Bola says Everton and Leicester are both keen on Benfica’s Rafael Silva. Benfica are apparently happy with a loan deal subject to a €30m permanent transfer in the summer.

- Thisfootball website say Bolton have told Everton and Manchester United they will have to pay £4m if they want to buy 18 year old goalkeeper, Jake

Saw that keepers value just after we agreed mirallas was rated at £4m. An 18 year old from Bolton who hasn't played and yet we ask for the same fee? Silly valuation.

I appreciate your wrap ups mate!!

Would rather Nisse like all Everton players be sold abroad not to other Prem teams

Would have liked Nzonzi, i feel Dacoure is a different type of player who lacks pace, i would much rather Kieran Dowell filled gaps then an uneccessary addition

Would be great if we got Dembele i don’t see it though, when was the last time we had 2 decent strikers at the same time? Saha and Yakubu? I dont see Niasse raising enough funds to cover Celtics asking price

Rafael Silva loan to buy option is great see if he can adapt if not bin him if so show Sandro how its done... again i believe Sandro will star for us next season... dont forget the likes of Drogba and Henry were written off in their first seasons here in the prem

No opinion on the goalkeeper situation, id lile to keep hold of Joel and would love to see steks booted to the curb
Hmm. Drogba scored 16 goals in his first season, while Henry got 26. Sandro has got...1.

No one sees that mate

...the Croydon Advertiser says PSV Eindhoven have enquired about a loan deal for Crystal Palace LB, Patrick van Aanholt, who is also linked with Everton.

He's utterly crap, can't defend to save his life, okay going forward, basically like playing a okay winger at fullback, attitude was supposed to suck at Sunderland as well.

Basically we need a starting, long term answer this window at left back, not a stop gap, as frankly Baines is all but finished as anything but a solid backup nowadays.

The difference to this team getting in a good class with potential to be even better left back can't be overstated.

Right now we have Pickford, Kenny, Holgate, who all look to have the genuine ability and attitude to be first team staples for a decade, add a left back like a Tierney or Shaw to that group, and an experienced but in his prime cb, and still having Coleman, Keane, Mori?, Then at the back we could have the foundation to build a very good and young side which develops together, much like the 80's side did, and with that side most don't realise the back four/keeper where all shockingly young.

Another 'stop gap' ? Really?

Stop gaps are pointless in a season where it should be now about getting the team as high as we can but more importantly getting a team ready to hit the ground running next season, why doing business now will help that, get the back four sorted so they have from now till august working together as a unit.

Sigurdsson will cover any left back going, if he's gonna be playing wide left we need someone who can bomb on and create space for him. PVA would do that but we won't get where we want to be by bringing players like him in so I dunno. Better than what we've got so if it comes to deadline day and we've not found one, may as well bang 15m on him
