He's utterly crap, can't defend to save his life, okay going forward, basically like playing a okay winger at fullback, attitude was supposed to suck at Sunderland as well.

Basically we need a starting, long term answer this window at left back, not a stop gap, as frankly Baines is all but finished as anything but a solid backup nowadays.

The difference to this team getting in a good class with potential to be even better left back can't be overstated.

Right now we have Pickford, Kenny, Holgate, who all look to have the genuine ability and attitude to be first team staples for a decade, add a left back like a Tierney or Shaw to that group, and an experienced but in his prime cb, and still having Coleman, Keane, Mori?, Then at the back we could have the foundation to build a very good and young side which develops together, much like the 80's side did, and with that side most don't realise the back four/keeper where all shockingly young.

..i suspect it’s a case of a journalist putting 2 and 2 together considering Allardyce’s history with the player. Surely a bid would’ve gone in by now if we wanted him. I agree, we need to be looking for a serious replacement LB rather than a back-up or short-term solution.

Stop gaps are pointless in a season where it should be now about getting the team as high as we can but more importantly getting a team ready to hit the ground running next season, why doing business now will help that, get the back four sorted so they have from now till august working together as a unit.
I agree mate, by the problem is we have a stop gap manager, how much do the board want to give him for transfers when realistically he could only have a few months left in the job??

How the fook he hasn’t been sacked yet is unbelievable! A complete fraud. Is Cenk Tosun a Walsh or Allardyce signing?

Madness isnt it mate, should have went with Koeman - but i do think he's on a last chance. I dont think the relationship with Koeman wasn't the best so Moshiri is giving him a chance to prove himself with a different manager.

I think Tosun is an Allardyce one, he wanted him whilst at Palace.

You see that’s what annoys me, that he wanted him at palace!! That tells me the quality of striker he is, average very average.
Allarydce will leave us in a right mess when he gets sacked!

Sigurdsson will cover any left back going, if he's gonna be playing wide left we need someone who can bomb on and create space for him. PVA would do that but we won't get where we want to be by bringing players like him in so I dunno. Better than what we've got so if it comes to deadline day and we've not found one, may as well bang 15m on him

Reckon Traore from Forest would be like that as well. Have seen him more than a few times this season, not just last night.

Quick, powerful, has the legs to get up and down.

Defensively he's pretty tosh, though, so like PVA not really where I want us to be looking.

It's difficult.

Tierney is the one for me, but there's no way Celtic are selling in January. Same goes for Chilwell at Leicester.

The most realistic in terms of 'young' British left-backs would be Bryan from Bristol City.

If not it may be the case of a stop-gap or, if Walsh has got anything about him, finding someone from abroad who can fill the role long term.

I've mentioned before that Marvin Plattenhardt would be one of the top targets on my list.

lol

Three times I've watched Forest this season, twice at the City ground. First time I saw him against Leeds he was awful. Played well v QPR. He did alright against Leeds on NYD and then played well last night.

But okay :)

Is three times more than a few times?

Come on ToffFrandel, you've been a bit fast and loose again here.
