January 2019 Transfer Window

Everything that's happened at the club over the last 3 years has happened with moshiris say so.

Endless wastes of money on poor players, endless terrible choices of management.

Now he's reining the money in.

Awful.

What amazes me is the amounts of money the club will save as players contracts run out or they are sold.
Baines, Jakielka and Williams leaving this summer will probably save about 10m per annum.
We will almost definitely be able to sell a few others who are doing well while out on loan like Besic,Pennington and a couple others but they are not very high earners.
Bolasie,Sandro,Mirallas are probably the most expensive with little or no chance of a transfer fee. I expect we would happily release all three if a club just covered their wages.

That is wrong. Trusting the wrong people to spend money is what got us into this mess.

Do you think we’re suddenly going to start getting better if we spend less?

We need to spend big and on the right players, otherwise we’re stuck in this vicious circle of nothingness.

Who’s been our best signing since Moshiri took over?

Digne, for 15mil. Most people would have wanted us to sign Teirney from Celtic for 25mil instead.

The mentality at the club should be the right players at the right price. Not, we need to spend big money.

Spurs haven’t spent big money, look at them.

Also, it will be Brands himself making the decision not to sign anyone.

Morgan 120k a week
Tosun 100k a week
Mccarthy 50k a week
Oumar 60k a week

Literally the above players are contributing zilch and theirs 300k a week down the pan and that's not even with the following

Ramirez 100k a week
Bolasie 70k a week
Mirallas 70k a week

And there's more

We have simply got to shift some of these players off the books wage wise or sale wise because we aren't the kind of club who can have 6/7 players on 60+k a week doing nothing

It makes sense to trim the squad. It has to be done whether we like it or not and your a fool if you don't see this needing to be done.

I don't care if you call it sell to buy, rent to let, lend and get into debt blah blah we can't have players on 100k a week not contributing to the team/squad.

Get rid of the crap and then we can rebuild this mess of a squad with the right people in charge ( Brands) for once.

I suppose people like you think he should just keep throwing his own money at the club?

Why dont YOU buy some of our players to help the club out?

You could give us 20m for Morgan and hire him as a chef or something.

Moshiri provided the funds , he didn't sign the players.
Blame him for appointing the manager but not for his manager signing players that have not worked out well.

It's not, but I can't believe anyone thought he was going for 14M.

There were reasons to believe that he was available for £14-18m - especially when there was an embargo at that time with multiple papers saying the same thing, so the info must've come from somewhere.

Our cheapest signings have been Lookman, Digne, DCL and Vlasic, all for less than we paid for Bolaise and his wages.

All good and well saying that with the benefit of hindsight. At the time was there much outrage over the appointment of Koeman & Walsh?

Reigning in the spending is not a bad thing or are you completely unaware of the number of clubs who have been ruined by gambling with the finances and not making prudent business decisions?
