I have read today that Gold has suggested the January window should be shut because certain players hold their clubs for ransom. What an idiot! Payet is a good player but for some reason (perhaps to gain points with their deluded supporters) the two porn barons tried to convince the world that they have something like a crossbreed between Maradona and Zidane. But to want to prevent hundreds of clubs from strenghtening or gaining much needed money just because you have been a first class fool is idiotic. It must be painful for the normal WHU fans to watch these two clowns turning their club into a laughing stock.
Having said that, I wouldn't touch Payet with a s..t stick. A good player, may be very good at some point (but not exceptional at all) but a classical bellend. Let us not forget that he had spent his entire career in France before joining West Ham. They took him, gave him ridiculously good money, put him in the spot light and did their best to convince the world that he is much better than he really is, just for him to repay them with that? Massive swerve from me!

If/when they get a fee for Payet, nailed on not a bean will be spent of it. They, the owners, want to stay up this season, (they will), have a strong balance sheet, the sell in the Summer.
Lobbing low ball offers around the PL, while creating/encouraging this Payet thing, sort of shows a MO to me.
Cant see us selling this window. Not with Gana away for potentially 5 weeks.
