Just got it in my head mate that we offered him a new contract, but because we couldn't guarantee him first team footy he turned it down and decided to move on because he felt he needed to make the next step up.

Shuts on January 31 at 11pm mate. However, clubs can complete transfers after 11pm if they have submitted a 'deal sheet', asking for more time to file the complete paperwork. This can extend their deadline until 1am in some circumstances.

The transfers that happen in the last few days of the window are average/old players to average/desperate clubs, can't remember the last time a big deal broke on the last day, sky haven't mentioned our deal to bring Baxter back so they can spew it out as breaking news come deadline day.
