If UTD can't afford him, and you say them not being in the Champs League will affect their budget to back that up, what makes you think we could? Utd are gonna be throwing loads of money around in the next 12 months, they're also gonna be selling a load of players for decent money. They need a CD, as Smalling and Blind are rumoured to be off and Jones is a permacrock. One of the richest clubs in the world may not be able to afford him, but we can?

....personally, I can't see him going in January unless a club pays over that valuation. He'll still be worth it in summer and Soton can utilise the 'income' for two transfer windows. It wouldn't make sense for them to sell at this stage from both a financial and playing perspective.

Gabbiadini and he has just turned 25 in November, not 26

Right you're on about Gabbiadini, not Giacherinni...

And well actually he's a regular starter as Milic is injured, and Napoli are far from an average side.

He's playing very well at the moment and if you actually watched him play you'd probably realise what Koeman/Walsh see in him.

I reckon another centre back wouldn't do any harm. We defo wanted one in the summer so doubt the form of our current ones would change that.

Then it's every other position on the pitch that needs looking at.

That's our only hope to get players is to pay over their valuation, VVD is just starting to come up on the radar, if he continues to impress for the rest of the season then I fear 'bigger' clubs will be in for him. I think January is the time to strike regarding VVD.

If we signed one as well as others I would be happy with that sure. I hope we do have the money there, we certainly need it.
