I believe the boy Depay may have an attitude problem

It's a no from me.
Put on my blue suede shoes and i boarded the plane,
touched down in the land of the delta blues in the middle of the pouring rain,
W.R. Dean wont you look out over me,
ive got a first class ticket
and im blue as dutch man can be.

Interesting to hear @Zatara 's (and anyone else's) thoughts on Leon Bailey, the Genk winger. In great form at the moment after a quality breakthrough season.

Watched him play a few times now and I've been very impressed, after knowing very little about him.

Basically Sterling-lite.

He's got a few of Europe's biggest circling around him, though only Ajax have made a move so far, with a bid turned down last summer.

We already have a similar player in Del, mind.

Hes a good player and very direct...a bit like kanchelskis as he always charges towards goal...

Koeman wont sign him...he wants older players for short term gain.

Davidson Sanchez from Ajax, number of "rumors" buzzing around that we have scouted since the summer and expect to make the addition in January

Don't know much about him to be honest

His name is Davinson Sanchez and he joined Ajax in the summer after turning down Barca. He is a terrific right sided centre back who seems to have everything.

He only signed for them in the summer you complete and utter bell sniff

Theres news reports quoting a scout saying we wanted him in the summer but couldnt as he wouldnt be eligible for a work permit (which is nonsense as other clubs proceed and appeal).

No mention of us being in for him now though.

That's pretty amazing from the RS or should i say Klopp,to make a profit and tweak the team with a minus net spend and have the ability to work with a core of players who have underachieved and make them better,it pains me they have him as manager.

Hopefully Koeman and the guy we got from Leicester can do something like that and find some gems and a playing style.

I'd hate the fact if we had to spend a boat load of money to propel ourselves,i'd like to do it being canny in the transfer market and showing plastic clubs you can do it with coaching scouting and developing players and build something amazing.

Clubs like Atletico & Dortmund have shown it works.
Aye but liverpool even more of an achievement when you consider fees such as 30 for benteke, 15 for IIbe, 6 for the full back etc. perhaps if we had done some player trading also instead of maintaining the family then we may have had some more manoeuvrability in the market.

In regards to Walsh yeah I agree. I think we have hired him to do just that, sign rather unknown players who can come in and improve us for modest amounts. Then long term be worth quite a bit to sell on which can support the team transfer wise which is not necessarily a bad thing. The only thing I can't see us doing is affecting the youth set up much, so we shouldn't get any steady flow of academy players breaking through sadly as it wouod mean largely binning off local lads which we won't want to do.

We did make the biggest single sale of the window in Britain, Ash.

But I get the principle. Think the thing is though Koeman just hasn't assessed the squad fully. We're all great on here at pretending to be managers and thinking we know the ins and outs of the squad, but the fact is Koeman won't have come into the job with the same thoughts on some of the players that we have.

He looks to have been giving time to the entire squad to prove they were/are worth keeping. Some, he clearly made snap decisions on and rightly so (Niasse, McGeady etc.).

The reasoning behind that sale is open for interpretation though ;)

Selling a player every year for big money is not something i am against though. There is always the argument of retaining your best players sure, but i am a firm believer in strengthening rather than following the stubborn everton way. So for example we sell lukaku for 65 million in the summer, we then bring 3 players in with that money who over a longer term can improve the team. Then if come the following summer we sell one of those for 40 million to one of the top teams, then do it again, over time i would imagine the quality improves quite a bit then and hopefully on the pitch moves us closer to being that team who then one summer doesn't need to sell to anyone else. many successful clubs do this method, just the key is signing better players when you sell, rather than just signing players.

In terms of Koeman, i think to a certain extent he feels a little bit in over his head at the minute, mainly because whereas he was fine at southampton, he can see all the shortcomings of the squad here. That is what concerns me right now, without board backing to be able to fix it, does he see this job as one for him? Not saying he will walk out on us but at least keep one eye on the next big contract on offer. I suggest this on the basis that when you look at the squad you see the likes of gibson/McCarthy/besic as his midfield cover and they seem to pick up injuries more often than they should. Realistically we nee dto be looking at swapping at least 2 of them out sooner rather than later but can you see the club doing that? We barely sign players as it is on mass without having to spend extra doing it at the same time.
