Possibly, we don't know. But Di Marzio has not once mentioned Barcelona in any of these "negotiations". If they have waived their 12 million option, then obviously any potential buy fee with Milan will be less than 12 million. Not a chance Barcelona will agree to let us rip up that part of the contract, only for us to sell the player to Milan for substantially more.

You can bet your bottom dollar, Barcelona will be involved in any negotiations that involves us potentially selling the player. They can't just be ignored.

Di Marzio is very hit and miss as well, more miss than hit actually.

The way prices are inflated today, I'd personally be very disappointed if we agree a sale price with Milan for anything less than 12 million. What can you buy for that these days?

I would imagine the players agent would have been in contact with Barca saying a bid in the region of XYZ has been suggested, any problems your end?

Just because Barcelona have ' an option ' on him, does not mean we can't sell Deulofeu to others. Barca could only buy him and we have to "automatically agree" for set fees at the end of the season. Doesn't mean we have to sell to them. If another team comes in for him we can sell to them too. We don't even have to notify Barcelona, I'm sure we would, but we wouldn't have to. That was the agreement, it wasn't a "first refusal" agreement.

Doesn't mean Deulofeu would have to rejoin Barcelona if they came calling either.

Everything you've just written there is wrong.

It isn't though. Barcelona have agreed fee's for specific times, does not mean we can't sell him on to someone else. They may have notification.

As if that would be a legal 'clause'.

"ere lad, you're going to Everton, but we have made it so you can't move on from there unless we buy you back, even if you're playing toss. Forget any freedom to move/right to work nonsense"

Of course it does! Unless Barcelona have waived their buy back rights, which may or may not have happened.

Just because they "can buy him back at an agreed fee" doesn't stop us selling to others. We could get £20m from say Milan in the summer, but Barcelona could get him for £12m at the same time. (or whatever the agreed fee is). If the player chose Milan, he chooses Milan. Whether it be January or June.

It goes against freedom to move, completely. The only time you'll get something that stops that is competition rules (like can't play for clubs in europe if they've played elsewhere before etc).
