not sure why you think oviedo is finished, hes done well when called upon. In fact as a backup left back hes been really good. Never moans, gets on with it and always puts in a good shift and creates chances too.

I'm pretty sure his last appearance was when he was terrible in that debacle at Chelsea and got subbed in the first half? So I don't think you can be sure he's not finished (at Everton, anyway).

Wasn't Haller apparently at the Hull game or was that BS? He looks interesting, though hard to be over confident on players from the Dutch league.

For every Suarez there are 3 Alfonso Alves types!

...sorry Matey, who is Haller. I was at the Hull game sat behind Deulofeu and Kenny. There was another bloke with them who I didn't recognise.

RE: Deeney

Leicester made a substantial bid last summer, after they won the league and in the champions league - I personally don't think it will happen.

....it's not the lad who was with Kenny in Everton merchandise but there was another lad in an overcoat with our contingent and it could be him. My son was with me, I'll ask him. Who does Haller play for?

He's absolutely ridiculously tall too if that helps.

With the Nzonzi shouts - I'd be wary. He's top class in Spain but was only ever decent over here for Stoke. Nothing wrong with that but some players just suit certain leagues perfectly and vice versa. He'd probably be pretty wary about it too tbh. I don't see anything in it.

Davies, Barkley, Gueye, Schniederlin to choose from and McCarthy and Barry as back up.

I think we are covered in that area now for this season.
Agree with all of that except Barry. If the signs are right that we are moving to 4-3-3 as standard then Barry doesn't have the legs for that. In that midfield, Barkley will have a lot of responsibility to feed the front 3 and he will be allowed to roam accordingly. The other 2 need series energy to accommodate that.

I suspect Ron would prefer McCarthy to stay and provide cover as this formation also caters to his natural running game.
