Cheers ;) so the HG required for a squad of 25 would be 8.

So looking mid-long term:

Pickford
Holgate
Davies
Iwobi
DCL

Just 5 and maybe 6 if Kenny returns to the fold.

Would Kean could as HG when he turns 22 or is he a year to old?

Either way we will need a couple more English players to come through / sign in the next 2 seasons...

.....just about a week of the window has gone already and we can assume Ancelotti has met with the Board to discuss targets. Here’s the Toffee transfer rumours for the morning of Tuesday 7th January;

- Athletic continue to suggest Everton is closing in on an 18months loan deal for Benfica‘s 20 year old midfielder, Gedson Fernandes.

- Goal report Everton interest in 23 year old Sassuolo forward, Jeremie Boga. The Frenchman spent 6 seasons at Chelsea who have a £12.8m buy-back clause, but the Toffees would have to part with a fee of around £20m.

- Football Insider says Carlo Ancelotti is ready to listen to offers for midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Everton manager has made his mind up on the 30 year old Icelandic international and will let him go if they can recoup a significant amount of the £45m they paid in 2017. The Express suggest Oumar Niasse, Cuco Martina and Cenk Tosun are being made available to raise money for January transfers.

- Official sources confirm Everton utility player Callum Connolly has joined Fleetwood Town on loan after the 22 year old spent the first half of the season at Lincoln.

- According to the Liverpool Echo, Adrien Rabiot is not a transfer target for Everton. Corriero Dello Sport, however, report the Toffees are ahead of Spurs and Arsenal in pursuit of a £5m loan deal for the Juventus midfielder. Italian outlet, Tuttosport, suggest Everton ‘insist on signing’ the Frenchman for £30m but Juventus has rejected the approach.

- The Echo also says Celtic want Everton defender Lewis Gibson. The 19 year old is in talks over a new contract with the Toffees. Feyenord, AZ Alkmaar and clubs in Germany are also showing interest.

- Arena Napoli link Everton, AC Milan and Napoli with Yannick Ferreira Carrasco. The winger is desperate for a return to Europe from Chines club, Dalian Yifang. Manager, Rafael Benitez, will accept £17m for the Belgian international.

- According to Football insider, Everton have been thwarted in a loan bid to sign Chelsea defender, Reece James, as the 20 year old has just agreed a new contract.

Id be made up with:

Fernandes 18month loan + option to buy
Hamez season loan + option to buy
2 or 3 for the u23s

Also a high potential centre back to start bedding in for next season and another centre mid u23 as a starter.

Cheers @Eggs

Only those 4 available huh? Could've picked the names out of a hat and been right.

Mixed bag of rumours though. All feasible.

Thank you Eggs
Really can't imagine anyone paying actual money for Sigurdsson, and 'significant amount' is heading towards delusional by Everton management.

I think hes got Palace/Newcastle written all over him.

£15-20mil fee.

....you’d think his massive wages would be a major factor. I doubt any team would pay the same, so the transfer fee would need to be low so that a signing fee could off-set the deficit. I wouldn’t expect he’ll agree to leave if it means a financial loss.
