He'd do a job, but I think he's probably in a place that suits his talents now. I honestly don't know have a clue what our striker policy is at the moment. Niasse is junk. Tosun is not suited to our style of play. DCL is ok, but not at the required level at this time in his career, and we have Kean who is not someone we can rely on 20-30 goals a season. I honestly have no idea who our targets are. In fact I can see two outgoings from that position and not much more than that.

I really hope that Brands and Silva have a number 9 up their sleeves for January.

well if tosun doesn’t suit our style, neither does mitrovic. Similar physical forwards with not much pace. While @ForeverBlue92 thinks we have no style or silva doesn’t have a clue, I generally think he wants to play like we did Saturday. With pace and quick passing, but for some reason he’s seems reluctant to drop players that done really suit that style.

And I think he/brands wants a technical quick forward. Which isn’t mitrovic and he would cost a lot of money. And he’s not good enough imo.

Yep 7 goals and 7 assists in around 25 games is very impressive from midfield.

OK mate I obviously am not watching the same Gomes you are.

He was very 50/50 last season and this season he's had as many Aston Villa performances as West Ham ones.

But gotta keep dose blue tints on...

Fair enough, you have a point, that should have read “if” - but that was the best we’ve looked in midfield all season by a country mile.

Anyways, if Doucouré is still a target, it’s looking like the time to get him will be next summer in a relegation fire sale. Be able to take a closer look on Tuesday at any rate.
