I still think we should be going all out for Camavinga. We need someone who really gets stuck in to win the ball and no one does it more than him in Europe which is some achievement for someone who turned 18 this week.

I'm sure Marcel already knows this though.
He only turned 17 in November. I'm all for bringing in talented youth players but we need a bit more experience.

He would cost upwards to £60m plus Real sniffing around.

I agree he is special but for Everton to spend that amount on a 17 year old who has never kicked a ball in Premier League.
Can’t see them getting £60m but who knows?

Even if Real were interested, he’d never get a game for them as they want ready made world class players every position.

He's basically the centre midfield version of Rooney...

Definitely the type we should be targeting and someone relatively affordable to add to our young group of players.

Hed walk into the team.

That lad we are scouting from Monterey looks a goodun.. Jonathan Gonzalez . Not sure how it would work with a work permit though .

I've been a big fan of Jonathan Gonzalez since he blew up at Monterrey as an 18 year old. Historically he played that Gana/Kante style of covering tons of ground and winning the ball all over the place, and when he first came up he was immediately the best defensive midfielder playing anywhere in North America (for about 6 months). He's been a bit bothered by injuries the past couple seasons but obviously it looks like he's getting back into the swing of things. If he can stay fit, he could end up being fantastic.

Beyond the injury issues, he does seem like the type of player who genuinely needs a stop somewhere else in Europe before going to the Premier League. I can't see him getting a work permit with any sort of ease, since he's only got 3 caps, but it might be worth if for the club to sign him and do a year loan to a Spanish or French club - if he did well there he'd probably be called up consistently and be able to get it straightened out within a year or two.

Love the way a 17-year-old you first mentioned 4 days ago is now able to just walk into our side.

Maybe we could do a double swoop for Dolberg and De Ligt as well.

Isnt it funny? Almost like mentioning Rooney after 25 games.

Funny you mention De Ligt...

Id take him in a heartbeat...

Yep, thats what I was reading.

Im sure in a few years he will be a top player and teams like Juve can afford to wait a few years for talent to rise, im just not sure we can.

It depends, would you like the new Ronaldo / Rooney / Keane / Vieira / Nesta / Cannavaro...

If thats a yes then you need to sign them when young.

In centre midfield next season if we had Gbamin, Gomes, Davies, Camavinga for 2 positions that may be a little short but still would be a very interesting base for the short-mid term.

I think it should be looked at as a Kean type signing but looking at our current midfield (non injured) options hed walk into the side.
