With Gomes and Gbamin being back within the next month I can't see us buying a central midfielder as we'd have 7 on the books.

If anything I think it will be a right midfielder to compete with Walcott. They may start to give Gordon a go there and if they do there won't be any first team buys

I’d be amazed if Gomes sets foot on a pitch for st least a month and another 6 weeks to get back up to speed. April at the earliest is my guess

I think it will be to see If we can get a creative midfielder on loan. Can’t imagine any significant permanent signings until the summer

The league is crap this season and a few new faces could get us right up there quite quickly though.

Depends who is available surely? If a perfect player came up for 40-50 million that would be a sure thing for a starting place then why not. I agree with your general statement of not buying for the sake of it though. We still have to get rid of a few first before committing to large numbers if it is anything but a world class solution.
