Josh King would be the most harshly realistic option I can think of.

Josh King isnt a proven goalscorer, he scored 16 in 1 season, but hes also posted 6 and 8 in others, for me hes more of a second striker anyway.

Its ok saying we need a Striker, we do, well if you totally ignore Kean, which Silva appears to be doing..............

BUT, we currently have 5 Strikers on our books, so unless we can offload some of our tosh, we wont be adding.

People need to realise that we are VERY much in sell to buy territory currently.

Thers about 5 or 6 teams in the whole of Europe that have a proven goalscorer.

I can think of 3 or 4 off the top of my head just in England alone, mane kane Salah vardy. Not saying we could get someone like thst. Iknow it's hard to find one.
But we should be aiming all our money at one. Not saying we will get one but that's what's keeping us at the bottom end of the league at the moment as well as a few other things

We are also 9th in the league for big chances missed with something like 19 missed chances. Would suggest that it's more a striker issue than a lack of creating anything but you have to watch with stats and what/how they count stuff as tbh i never would have said we create that much, i think it's an area we struggle with at times.

I think the fact only Watford and Newcastle have scored less goals for us along with being 6th for big chances created point to a striker problem.

Add even a 3-4 more goals and given how close the table is this year, we'd be sitting comfortably top half.

I do think even when playing poorly we show moments where things almost click and you can see what Silva is trying to do.

We turned our noses up at Wilson there but we'd be a lot better position if we had him this year.

He would cost around 70m, for a player who has smashed both his knees up and has only ever reached double figures once is just silly.

The way I see it, we can sell Tosun and probably with that fee get a decent up-and-coming striker, or possibly a young "proven" Bundesliga goalscorer. But agreed our void for up-and-coming strikers is filled, and we need one that could sign today and score one today (wouldn't that be nice)

Haller just went to Hammers for £40m. Jolinton or however you spell it to Barcodes for £42m. I don't think a Bundesliga "proven" goalscorer will be had for £10m.

Yep and the difficulty is persuading one of them to come to Everton. Going to be difficult but hopefully brands may know of someone

Fair - didn't mean it as a dig just was posting quickly. Also did not know that was the figure being talked about for him - no wonder we went for young up and coming in Kean

You're right, my mistake. Guess I'm living in a fantasy world where we get more than that for Tosun but I had the numbers wrong.

I think if we sell to buy, we sell enough to get the ~40m that it would take to bring in a proven Bundesliga goalscorer though. If you can score in Germany that's often a good sign for the Premier League. Not always, but most of the time.
