Wtf has Instagram got to do with it?
It’s like people crying about what Tom wears when he’s out or Pickford getting lashed at the darts, their young men mate, not robots

What's Instagram got to do with it?

Maybe the fact this clown has managed zero goals and zero assists in the whole of 2019 because he's to busy being an absolute penis on social media, to a point even his OWN manager has told him to cut it down a bit

If you don't hate Jesse lingard then you are probbaly the first person I've ever known not to, fair play

Why would I hate him though?

Above all that though he is awful
Seen a stat where a number of goal keepers had more assists than he had. jarg rumour at the start of silly season . More chance of mata or Witzel coming in :)

.....just about a week of the window has gone already and we can assume Ancelotti has met with the Board to discuss targets. Here’s the Toffee transfer rumours for the morning of Tuesday 7th January;

- Athletic continue to suggest Everton is closing in on an 18months loan deal for Benfica‘s 20 year old midfielder, Gedson Fernandes.

- Goal report Everton interest in 23 year old Sassuolo forward, Jeremie Boga. The Frenchman spent 6 seasons at Chelsea who have a £12.8m buy-back clause, but the Toffees would have to part with a fee of around £20m.

- Football Insider says Carlo Ancelotti is ready to listen to offers for midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Everton manager has made his mind up on the 30 year old Icelandic international and will let him go if they can recoup a significant amount of the £45m they paid in 2017. The Express suggest Oumar Niasse, Cuco Martina and Cenk Tosun are being made available to raise money for January transfers.

- Official sources confirm Everton utility player Callum Connolly has joined Fleetwood Town on loan after the 22 year old spent the first half of the season at Lincoln.

- According to the Liverpool Echo, Adrien Rabiot is not a transfer target for Everton. Corriero Dello Sport, however, report the Toffees are ahead of Spurs and Arsenal in pursuit of a £5m loan deal for the Juventus midfielder. Italian outlet, Tuttosport, suggest Everton ‘insist on signing’ the Frenchman for £30m but Juventus has rejected the approach.

- The Echo also says Celtic want Everton defender Lewis Gibson. The 19 year old is in talks over a new contract with the Toffees. Feyenord, AZ Alkmaar and clubs in Germany are also showing interest.

- Arena Napoli link Everton, AC Milan and Napoli with Yannick Ferreira Carrasco. The winger is desperate for a return to Europe from Chines club, Dalian Yifang. Manager, Rafael Benitez, will accept £17m for the Belgian international.

- According to Football insider, Everton have been thwarted in a loan bid to sign Chelsea defender, Reece James, as the 20 year old has just agreed a new contract.

Would be good if we could get Gibson to sign that new contract. He looks decent and a commitment from him would be a positive sign that he's happy here and willing to kick on for us

I nearly hate him as much as Schneiderlin and Siggurdson. Nearly.
During the world cup I worked for Asda and one England game all the mangers where up stairs watching the game, including the store manager(Man U fan) and all I could hear was him bellowing COME ON JESSIE.
Lads crap worse player then Danny WELBECK and that takes some doing

Interesting to see who his first signing will be. Particularly in terms of the age profile.

Good players who can get better will want to know the type of player who might be following them in the door.

We had this problem in Koeman's first summer. If we had persuaded one of the likes of Witsel, Koulibaly etc to join things might have been different. Other players then feel confident to follow suit.

The real issue is that its really difficult to maintain discipline and hold your fire if you can't get the players you immediately want.

The pressure is on from fans and clubs invariably bow to that pressure and compromise.

I'm concerned at the profile of signings Brands has overseen in the main in the sense that the underlying scouting doesn't seem to be good enough and wide enough.

If Ancelotti wants Player X, clearly we go all out to get him but there should be 2 or 3 viable options for every position.

There is still much value to be had in continental Europe and South America but we don't appear to be tapping into that much at all, particularly for a club like ours that needs quality and quantity.
It would be interesting to know how our transfers work, does Brand just start here a list of players for X position and then the manager picks one, or do they both have their own ideas.
Someone said (on here I think) we agreed to buy a Cb from Italy but Silva vetoed it and wanted Rojo instead.
Think Ancelotti will let Brands do most of the work and just phone the player if need be
