January Transfer Window 2012

just read this morning that yet another striker is speculated to be joning us, to go with the other 20 or so!
it seems the media are doing a better job than our board at finding out these strikers but surely we must be able to sign 1 of them?!
other teams are after strikers too but even if all these other teams did sign a striker it would still leave us with a lot to choose from.

what i cant understand is why we are struggling to get someone? i know about our lack of money but even the loan deals seem out of our reach!
i fear that once again the transfer window is gonna close before we get anything sorted.
there seems little urgency from the club in selling / buying from what ive seen.
guess im just very frustrated :@

You can't just buy any, we have to buy the right sort of player. one who is good at defending corners.

hehe, i know youre right!
wouldnt it be great to have a selfish striker again like lineker used to be?
just sick of hearing "this or that" striker is joining and not seeing any progress.
maybe boycotting the papers and internet is the only way to stop the madness....

There are three main reasons why no aspiring striker will come to Goodison:
1. We can't afford anyone and we won't find a good enough striker in a loan deal. If he's any good his club will keep him or sell him for a fee.
2. Not many strikers will want to spend their time defending and being told not to shoot from more than two yards out.
3. Any aspiring striker looking forwards in terms of their career will not go to a club that now has a reputation for having sold all their creative midfielders so that there is a complete lack of service. Any half intelligent striker will realise that Everton can't supply the ammunition and that his career as a striker or goalscorer will fade out at Goodison.

Sad isn't it?

We won't be buying anyone we've got no money, an even if we do they'll probably be a big pile of ****e, for what we can afford they're not guns be much cop.

I would rather have an Andy Gray type, Lineker was when it all started to go wrong

Although we signed Lineker in the closed season of 1985 (probably with some slightly earlier negotiations or soundings) the "beginning of the end" was surely 2nd June 1985 when UEFA banned English clubs after the RS had a bit of a riot.

Lineker scored more than 40 goals in only 57 games for Everton....we haven't seen his like since and could do with a player like him again, a real poacher and a selfish striker who just knows where the goal is and wants to nothing but score.

We didn't win anything with Lineker but 1986 was still a good season aside from the knock to our pride in being runners up to RS twice. However, Blue pride shone through in 1987 and we won the league again. If the ban had not stayed in place Kendall would have stayed along with the likes of Lineker and Trevor Steven but I guess they all needed to ply their trade in Europe to see if they really were the best. They could no longer do that with Everton. Sadly.
