We've had good strikers: Yakubu, Johnson, Beattie, Saha...but it's a rare talent like Van Persie, Tevez or Rooney who can play upfront by themselves and score a hatful of goals. Even then, they've had the likes of Walcott, Silva and Nani to supply the ammunition. We're asking comparatively ordinary players to carry the goalscoring burden, as well as defending from the front, with service coming via hoofs from the seven defenders behind him.

I agree with this, it is why I feel Moyes has done well with what he has got in the way of finances.
