Well you are correct, but being a poacher is something you either have or don't, imo, as it can't be taught that well, if at all.

No you're quite right.

I haven't seen enough of the lid to comment on his skill-set but going by last night he only showed poacher's instincts and a few nice, clinical finishes.

He'll probably need a bit more to make it as a top-class premier league CF. He might have more mind -- like I said I've not seen too much of him.

He'd *just* cut it at Premiership level on FM, so that's fine by me!

Plus rated as 4* potential, which is better than Saha's current level of ability there, sooo...

FFS Now they can blame Jags for not buying a Striker....we're cursed I tell thee.

Yeah it conveniently gives moyes the option to fill other areas of the team first, because scoring goals is over rated in this game like. so we can look forward to more defenders joining, oh joy can't wait :P

Do we really need another defender though?

Sure it sucks not having Jags fit for 6 weeks but is it really worth getting another defender in to cover for him till he comes back in mid to late Feb and then having an extra defender when we would be better off improving other areas of the picth where we can benefit for the rest of the season?

Heitinga and Distin at CB....Duffy recalled, so I'd sugest he is the one who will be on the bench as cover, if anything happens to him then I'd say Moyes would put Hibbert at CB and Coleman at RB. Last resort Neville at CB (Rodwell when fit can also supposedly play there). So really, in a word no. Other clubs use youngsters as cover, so should we, especially with an already limited budget and longer term problems to address.

We've been playing recently with 6 or 7 defensive players on the pitch, losing one of those to injury shouldn't really need to affect us negatively. It could also be a positive with Moyes forced into playing an extra attacking player.
