He may well be. Grafter, reads the game well, high energy levels, brings others into the game, can shoot.

He’s alright I suppose.

Doucoure is likely off in the next 6-12 months and talk of skateboard kid also leaving. Garner is an unknown quantity and Gana is clearly past his best as well.

Whilst we need 1-2 attacking players we ideally do need a CM as well.

Gallagher is not a creative or attacking midfielder.
Agree that he’s not a particular creative player, but he would have been our second highest goal scorer last season with his eight goals. Goals from midfielders is definitely not a reliable statistic year to year, but it does show how he can impact that part of the pitch if in the right system/environment.

you'd imagine theyre aware of that, surely a couple of attackers are coming in in addition
If that's the case then we have more money than I thought we did. As we are on January 30th and still appear to be pissing into the wind, I'd be shocked if we had much more than the Gordon fee to spend, or even the full amount.

Gallagher is a technical donkey. hard worker, not a bad player but incredibly limited.

£45m to save us from relegation is a fair crack.

But a £45m player he isn't.
He isn’t but I guess although getting 45 for Gordon was a gift it does mean chelsea can not unreasonably point to the fact he is a better player than Gordon, and therefore be reluctant to take less.

Hmm ok, must have imagined all those goals he scored for Palace

Did you ever watch him play or are you just looking at Wikipedia? He is a high pressing energetic ball winner, he’s much more similar to what Gana used to be in his first spell than anything resembling creative. If you’re expecting to see a creative or attacking midfielder then I really dunno what to tell you.

Don’t attacking midfielders score goals and get assists? Isn’t that exactly what he did for Palace?

I can’t remember Gana scoring many goals or getting assists for us in either spell.

I did. Lots. You’re wrong. Hope that helps.
