I disagree, I don’t see any reality that the club thinks they can get away with no getting at least 2 loans in after a £40m gift. I genuinely think there’d be a revolt, not a protest but a proper incident. I hope for all of our sakes that you’re dead wrong.

Big Paul's record actually looks very handy in fairness. I also like the idea of having a player we just refer to as 'big Paul'.

A goal or assist every 107 mins of league football is very decent, albeit in the Danish and Belgian leagues.

Disagree mate, this is one window we have to bring in some quality. The table is bad enough to look at but our performances have probably been even worse.

Glad we’ve had good times though.

That's the point - if we could get someone in with quality that would be worth it, but we consistently struggle to do that.

But I said it more in jest, of course we'll get some players in but we are just not a destination at the moment. People who are slating the club why we aren't signing players on a permanent are probably missing that. If I were a player it would be much easier to say I will go on loan with you until the end of the season and then see how the land lies afterwards. You probably don't want to commit yourself to a likely 3.5 year deal that could see you play in the championship for a couple of those years. Likewise the club wouldn't want that in case the worst happened and you have a load of new players on big contracts.

They're not very good, though.

They can do their job to the best of their ability and it wouldn't be enough to get us out of a scrap.

I'd love to be proved wrong, but we rely on Iwobi, Gray and McNeil to create chances for a lad who can't stay fit and another striker who is, well, rubbish.
