Think we need to put things into perspective a little.

From a player angle from the outside looking in then they will see it's a toxic environment, players being chased down the streets (a mindless minority I know), financial issues and in the bottom 3. They may consider a loan with the option to sign if the club stays up but then does their club want this?

Yes the club and board are at the source of the issues but we haven't as fans shown the club in it's best light.

So the only players we might attract are ones stepping up from a smaller league or club and then they will keep their options open until the last minute.

They key reason transfer business isn't done early is the above and clubs needing to find replacements, clubs playing the long game to drive up the asking price and interest, agents doing the same and all until the last moment. Don't get me wrong if you go in early with a big offer and they can get an instant replacement it may happen but we've been skint. I'm sure the club would have liked to do their business at the start of the month.

However let's hope a rabbit or two can be pulled out of the hat

What are you basing this on? He is miles better than Gray and much younger. Gray ended up at us for a pittance because he was 25 and still hadn't ironed out all the flaws in his game from when he was a kid. He's 27/28 now and he STILL hasn't.

Sulemana has the potential to be a top, top player. Console yourself however you want, but we've knackered this up big-time.

I base this on him warming the bench and not starting one game for Rennes in the league.

He has played 316 minutes this season. He is NOT miles better than Gray.
