What are you basing this on? He is miles better than Gray and much younger. Gray ended up at us for a pittance because he was 25 and still hadn't ironed out all the flaws in his game from when he was a kid. He's 27/28 now and he STILL hasn't.

Sulemana has the potential to be a top, top player. Console yourself however you want, but we've knackered this up big-time.

But how often do these wingers bought from France, Holland, Portugal, Belgium for £20m plus work?

Moussa Djenepo, Mohamed Elyounoussi, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Steven Bergwijn, Nicolas Pepe, Goncalvo Guedes, Patson Daka, even someone like Danjuma! They very rarely adapt to the Premier League, and thats just off the top of my head!

Obviously there will be examples of it working, but clubs in europe see Premier League clubs coming from a mile off!
Demari Gray has more Premier League goals in the last 2 seasons than any of these

Something worth noting regarding Sulemana: he's having his medical in France, not in Southampton.

Folks thinking we need to get the players down to Finch Farm/anywhere in the UK are therefore mistaken.

I know this is very much a glass half full perspective but there is hope yet.
