Oh to have a scouting department. Brighton, the mighty Brighton and Hove Albion, also seem to be able to find decent South American players. We don't look for talent in South America, funnily enough the furthest we were prepared to look for a much-needed striker was Brighton itself. Disgusting.
So they have some scouts in South America. To be honest Brighton get lauded yet have spent a lot of money. They made 60mil the summer just gone, they previous 5yrs they had a debt on spending of 210mil, 50mil less than ours.
And finished 17th,15th and then 16th under potter, do you think he keeps his job at Everton for 3yrs finishing in them positions.

That’s not to say we haven’t spent terribly and scouted terribly, because we have. But there’s this huge myth that we’re the only team outside the sly 6 who spend money. Since moshiri took over, Newcastle, villa, wolves and West Ham al have bigger debts in spending, but every time you turn talkSPORT on Simon Jordon is taking about the 500mil we’ve spent.

Spot on with every last bit of that post.

It's weird as well, because Brands had a reputation for recruiting South Americans yet the ones we bought were well known Bernard, Mina, James. And you would think Kev Thelwell would know that market well given he worked in MLS and they scout those markets heavily. We have a lack of imagination with signings

Hahaha !! That is shocking, and it wouldn't even surprise me if that was even down to us. It was probably them that scouted us as the best possible destination to make money on the lad before losing him on a free. Knowing we'd jump the gun and bite there hands off.

Kenwright's been scouting harry kane apparently

It would take a huge shift and realisation to recognise we are signing players that will leave in three years for bigger clubs. We would have to ok with that too.
Quite frankly, with the exception of richarlison and Lukaku we haven’t signed anyone worth selling since moyes was here.
We need to be in the sub 23 market, but we also need to make sure that we are sorting things out behind the scenes, as our record is largely the ones we have signed have not settled or had the mentality to play - kean, vlasic, del, Lookman- all of these have shown to be match winners but for a variety of reason not managed to kick on at goodison.

Culturally, young up and coming players or our big signings do not feel like they need to raise their standards joining Everton, there feels like a collective sigh of relief and relaxing through the contract.

We were linked with Sasa Lukic from Torino a few weeks ago. I really like the look of him, and we badly need to improve our central midfield because they currently have us on the back foot for 90 minutes. Although it’s not easy to tell if that’s all due to Lampard’s negative tactics or not.
