January Transfer Window 2023

If Frank had stayed, Danjuma may well have joined, it could have helped momentum in this window

But many fans wanted Frank out of course due to the bad run....

This is far from over though - all that makes sense is to get behind the team now
Perhaps if Frankie boy had won more than 1 game in about 14 he might still be here. Perhaps if he'd managed to take more than 1 point from Forest + Wolves + Leics + Bournemouth + Saints + WHam there'd be a whole queue of quality players lining up to be here.........

Agree with you...we should have done more and this is unforgivable, but I have accepted relegation for my own sanity and those around me. Its sad but life is better than this...one day they'll pay for this legacy they are leaving behind them and I can't wait for that day to come.

This mate !

So a squad that had a major deficient of goals even last year sold their highest scorer never replaced him assumed our only perpetually injured striker would be fit and brought in a second striker who isn't suited to the style they wanted to play then desperately needing forwards we didn't sign anyone and profited off another sale while not reinvesting the funds. Then to cap off the ineptitude we brought in a manager who isn't prolific when it comes to his teams providing goals. This all seems like perfect ingredients for a relegation recipe. Joke of a club

The point was to stop clubs spending beyond their means. Chelsea obviously believe with amortisation they can balance the books meaning they're spending within their means.

£100M players were always on the books as more and more money pours into the game. That inflation of prices has been pretty much a constant since the advent of transfer fees.

Wouldn't be surprised it hits them. They won't get champs league this season and no Rushki to bail them out.

It's a disgusting way football has become though

Couldn’t agree more. It’s a massive gamble and I wouldn’t fancy Potters job trying to deal with that amount of huge egos!

Irony is, there is nothing fair about FFP. The shape of the league is still very much based before FFP introduction. So those clubs who got the early investors, Chelsea, City, United etc spent like crazy, attracted a global revenue stream and positioned themselves to always be able to spend far larger amounts than the lower income teams,
One of the criticisms of FFP seems to be that it doesn't level the playing field. But it's never been about levelling the playing field. It's about getting clubs to stay within their means and not put 100+ year old institutions with huge cultural importance into massive financial peril because of the failings of short term custodians.

Of course there are clubs who benefited from huge investment before FFP came in but that's just life. Sometimes things happen at the right time for some and the wrong time for others. The Mersey Millionaires once benefitted from huge investment and were able to spend comparatively obscene amounts compared to 99% of professional clubs but I doubt there were many Blues bleating about the unfairness of it all back then.

What do we think the line is gonna be?

I’m going for “we tried up until the last minute but the players we wanted just weren’t available and didn’t want to settle”.
I don't imagine there will be any comment. Dyche will be hung out to dry at the pre-Arsenal presser.
