If we stay up, I don't think we'll have a budget that isn't sell to buy and consolodate.

If we done that this season we would be rock bottom. How are you watching all these underperforming young players and going 'yep that's what we're missing'If we sold Pickford and replaced with e.g Bazunu and Johnson for the same fee....there could be 50%+ upside.
If we could hold onto Onana we'd still need to bring in another midfielder. We wouldnt make money on Billing but its a sensible low cost signing.
i do see alot of upside in Lavia and Danilo while someone like a Bowen/Paqueta should have an immediate impact.
Theres quite a range there as well as players already in the championsip...the Chelsea and City u21s etc...
Im sure we'll see some great players linked like last summer (Hojlund?)and am hopeful we could pick out a couple to add to the squad.
The issue is how much we 'need' to spend on incoming players.
If we did sell Holgate, Maupay and Gomes I would expect us to generate £20-25mil + small amounts for Nkounkou etc
Added to a possible £35-40mil budget?
That probably brings in 2 good young players without a major sale.
Our policy next window will be go to forest cup in hand and ask them what scraps they have.As I said, it's not that I don't think they're good players or that they're hugely overpriced at what you're quoting, just that I don't think they represent good value. Paqueta would be a 26 year old who had effectively failed in Italy and then in England. It would be an enormous risk spending £30m+ on him, and I just don't think we're in a position to do that. Someone like Billing I've liked since he was at Huddersfield but £20m for a bloke who's been knocking around in this country for 8 years yoyoing between the Championship and the PL relegation zone doesn't seem good value either. We have got to get better at identifying and attracting talent before they take the next step. Paying £25m for Danilo 6 months after Forest got him for £15m is simply not a model we can afford to follow.
I think £15mil is pretty much the standard fee now for a premier league player. Think they signed him for that price. As I said, it's not that I don't think they're good players or that they're hugely overpriced at what you're quoting, just that I don't think they represent good value. I think johnson has a 20 millions release relegation clause
Id drop 50 mill on Johnson (if we had it) NEA.
Good investment.
Could be a great signing and would mean both a goal threat and a long term right hand side (with Patterson). The only thing with Johnson is, I think he has a release clause.
But yes, I think he will have more attractive suitors.
We could probably do a lot worse, at looking to the championship, for lads with a shorter time frame on a contract for recruitment. Avoid the "marquee" names people tend to go for and there should be some reasonable value available.

How?Think we will spend a reasonable bit mate, unless we have a ban.
Then he'll have many, many options.I think johnson has a 20 millions release relegation clause
How?
We’ve about 20mill + wiggle room in P/S if we drop the 111 mill loss this summer.
I think that will be spent. The rest of the Gordon and Kean fees will just go to serving the business losses.
So in and around spending what we did last summer IMO.
Now we are talking non of this first team player rubbish, it's not Everton until we sign a highly rated young goalkeeper who will never play a single minute for us.Matevž Vidovšek linked. 23 year old Slovenian keeper, used to play in Italian clubs youth teams before returning to his country.
Backup to Oblak in the international team.

Especially as some suggest we are in profit this year. That is before other wage deductions are factored in.
We do have wriggle room. But we cant go wild.
A lot of the deals we were reportedly trying to do in Jan (and last summer too) were reportedly loan with obligation deals with the full transfer to go through this summer coming. The picture may change depending on the PL charge, but that suggests we believe the improving P&S position means there is a decent budget available for the summer.Especially as some suggest we are in profit this year.
