There is a lot less risk than Gakpo too.

Tbf Kudus is the kind of low risk, high reward transfer we should be after so although that fell through maybe we're getting it now?

But then if we actually have any interest in Sarr we clearly don't. He shouldn't even be on the list to ask about.

Our inability to not see the risks with this approach is maddening. It's hardly safe.

But if that is a thing, and we only have a small amount to splurge, can’t afford to buy some young forward with massive potential who may take till April to show it. Annoying as it forces more short term crap business, but just another part of the hole we’ve dug ourselves over the last few decades.

I'm not suggesting splurging. That's still too risky for us.

And Onana, but then we did spoil it all with McNeil and Maupay, not saying either are bad players, but so far they havent really proven their worth.

Maupay was dumb and bad. I actually think the idea with McNeil was probably fine but the player they picked was just clearly deficient for what they were asking to do.

I think having to pretty much revamp your forward line in January comes with so many risks that whoever you bring won't hit the ground running it's why you should do your major business in the summer. I get strengthening defence and midfield but the negligence in forward areas is alarming. We bought players who dont score or assist much to add to the others that dont. It's weird as Lamps was known as an attacking manager before he came here.

The problem I have is if what we were trying to do was get it wide and hammer crosses that's a very misguided approach. I also don't think that was the plan all the way.

We have to of course circle back to the lack of competent management here. The attackers, while not good enough, are not being put in any type of position to possibly succeed.

I really cannot be arsed about January transfers..such is the current feeling I have about the direction of the Club.

And yes, I know, I posted in the thread but I am just flummoxed about where we, as a Club, is currently going.

Right, I think they were building the squad out with the idea DCL was going to be the 9 for most of the season, but then they based that on the hope and dream that hed kicked the injury bug, which was a bit rash
