I'd sign Gyokeres from Coventry over Diaz from Blackburn for this reason. He's an actual centre forward and is scoring 1 in 2 this season. Without Calvert-Lewin we just can't get the ball up the pitch. Our midfield isn't good enough to dominate the ball or create from open play so we rely on crossing the ball in or being more direct.

100% this. We need a new starting centre forward. If dcl can stay fit that’s a bonus to have 2 decent forwards.
 
The criminal mismanagement at the club is coming home to roost they knew Richy wanted out two summers ago. They knew DCL wasn't to be relied upon for over a season. Yet still when we panic-bought a center forward having gone through the start of the season without one we bought one who isn't even similar to a target man lile DCL or a flexible forward with pace and threat like Richy and thought that would be ok. They have replaced creative players like James, Bernard, Sig with players like Gray, Gordon and Mcneil, who to me would be lucky to be squad wingers in any PL squad in what world did they think this was enough?! You reap what you sow.

Not meaning to have a pop but you want to take Mykolenko out because he isn't good going forward (ok) for a CB to play out of position and also has no idea what to do when he hits the halfway line? Mykolenko at least is solid defensively. Yes, he's lacking at going forward but that's what it is. Godfrey isn't the answer to almost any question unfortunately.

I don’t know what Myko was doing yesterday when clearly the speedy muscular Spanish winger would have done the direct running thing which led to the second goal.

I think it was our worst transfer window under Moshiri and thats not hindsight. I was screaming all summer that we were getting it all wrong.

Other than the 2 centre halves, every other move we made was a bad one. To spend the Richarlison money on Gueye Onana Mcneil and Maupay is barely believable. He should be the first one out the door along with the board.

Onana IMO is fine, but the two attackers (in loose terms, to be kind!) were pointless. Don't mind Gana as it was him in for Allan.

We have no threat what so ever. Only a couple of season ago when we was crap but not fighting relegation crap. We used to have Digne causing a threat from left back now we have a player who can’t attack. We had the Icelandic slug even tho I couldn’t stand him chipping in with goals and assists now we have Iwobi running round doing nothing. we had James causing trouble when ever he played and people moaned he didn’t offer cover. I wish he was in this squad because a one legged James is better than Gordon McNeil Maupay put together. I feel like we are worse now than we have ever been attacking wise. Banking on Gordon was a brainless decision. We definitely need more than one good attacker to solve the problem.

Yeah I agree. It’s hard to know without knowing the full extent of the mess we are in financially.
But we should just go all out for attackers and we can always sell Pickford in the summer to cover the January outgoings
