My point is how on earth we paid £15m for Maupay or £20m for McNeil. This is insane.

If you are shopping for British prices those are the prices, similar to Lewis Potter, Gibbs-White, Lewis-Potter, Targett, Djed Spence, Tavernier, Hickey etc.

They appear far worse than they are for us though as they are replacing vital players in the side.

If that fails then we will have to resort to our favourite solution and sack the manager, we all now know that the only thing we are worse at than buying players is picking managers. We will be looking for a new manager in early January mate. It isn’t a case of one or the other of these scenarios.

Was listening to Toffee TV yesterday and for what its worth(he could be chatting bubbles but it sounds right) Baz was saying we could have had that French lad Guirassy for 13m in the summer instead we went for Maupay. At least Guirassy is a target man who scores goals

Thats a myth, we have bought loads of players from abroad, they all stink as well.

I understand the scouting network and data analysis was lacking any real direction as they were inevitably undermined by the powers at be.
Their was a really poor culture at the club which Thelwell is having to remedy.
