I understand the scouting network and data analysis was lacking any real direction as they were inevitably undermined by the powers at be.
Their was a really poor culture at the club which Thelwell is having to remedy.

Completely agree mate.
Its unfortunately a long winded process.
My instinct is that they went with them two due to financial restrictions and possibly being risk adverse. Every single one bar Onana was a 'safe' purchase.

Groundhog day - although the Lampard version is slightly less bad than the Benitez one.

You mean the New Iwobi that stunk the place out for 3 seasons then plays half a dozen decent games , and now being back to being really bad.

Like 5 goals in 99 appearances bad.

Tbh i always love Players who fight and have good metality but wth are our Players?
I feel like 90% is scared if they have the Ball.
Mykolenko/Patterson: cant make a Single good cross or get in a 1v1 for once.
Gueye: is a legend for sure but sadly isnt prem nieveau anymore
Maupay: dont let me even start with this guy. Its Not even his fault bc why are we buying a 1,50m Player with no physic or pace if we Just want to Counter or play long balls?
Mcneil/gray/gordon: mid mid and mid. Its not like they are bad but Just unproductive.

No matter which position the wonderful board Decides to Upgrade please please please let it be a Player who can do something with the Ball other than 5m pass.
I dont care if it dont work every time but we need players who try and who have the courage to create something no matter if by risky passes or by going in on 1v1 after the other.

Its up to the manager to get a tune out of players.

We can sit here for HOURS and pinpoint the weaknesses of all our players, but we have, at 1 point seen all our players have some very good games.

Yes, part of being a "bad" player means you are very inconsistent, but a good manager gets some of the players playing some of the time.

It pains me going all in on Frank, cos honestly, I dont hate him, I just think hes more of a problem currently then a solution.

We could very well appoint a new manager and the same weak arse player issue exists, but its easier to change a manager than a squad of players.
