Looking increasingly unlikely we wont be bent over on price after telling every agent out there how desperate we are, that’s if people weren’t already aware how poor in attacking areas we are. It’s also looking increasingly unlikely that we have any sort of budget without clubs giving us actual money for some of our dross.
Sack Vinagre off and claim back a loan spot, Godfrey can be back up as well as Coleman and probably McNeil as he can only use his left foot. We need 3 attacking players, minimum, as we all know at least one of them will get injured immediately. Whoever we get needs to score for fun as we don’t have the time to entertain potential, desperate times and our league status is now in the hands of a man who identified and then bought McNeil and Maupey as 2 of our attacking options…. Kevin, you’ve had long enough to know what’s needed and you’ve had long enough to have everything in place to sign these players. Don’t let the soiled bedsheet Banksy come for you. Desperate, desperate times

Diaz and Gakpo, as well as Potter for manager. All wanted by Brands 18 months ago. Two now at Liverpool the other managing Chelsea. But Brands was part of the problem apparently.

I’m no idea who Thelwell will be bringing in. Newcastle are looking for a top quality attacker, so don’t be surprised when it’s Chris Wood if they sign one.

I know times are desperate, but some of these informed suggestions for players are symptomatic of how our heads have been mashed by Everton and it’s recruitment.

Lascelles.
Moura.
Brereton Diaz.
A return for Moise Kean.

Seems pretty clear to me that any recruitment policy over the last 7-8 years has been totally undermined by Trigger-Happy Moshiri and Sentimental Bill. What we need is stability. And that costs sweet FA other than patience, time and good decision making. A new, focussed Board will I hope be one of Thelwalls 120 pointers to a secure Premier League future.

100% Brands was part of the problem. For every one player you say he recommended, I can pick 2 he purchased who have been a massive failure.

He was also on the board when Allardyce got appointed and Benitez got appointed. If he had anything about him he would have resigned either of those times.

We could say the same about Walsh, he had deals lined up for Andy Robertson and Harry Maguire (regardless how crap he is that could have been us selling him to Utd for 80m) but Koeman wanted Keane instead of Maguire.

Brands, just like Walsh just like a whole bunch of managers, just like Thelwell (based on Maupay and Mcneil being absolutely garbage and Vinagre having the same kind of impact that sticking a pin in a Whale would have) looks to be following suit.

It's been a comedy show of errors for far too many years at Everton and no one at this club will be looked upon fondly in years to come. This board, this group of players will be taking us down unless a miracle happens

Being able to identify a good player or manager who is already at the top level and being linked with multiple teams isn't really a sign that you're a good DoF.

Not being funny or confrontational but wasn't he player of the year for Forest playing as a6? If not they really did rave about him there i thought
No worries mate but there's a big difference between playing as a 6 in the Championship and in the Premier League.

I didn't see enough of him at Forest to fully judge where he played but this is going off what people in the game are saying. He's played there at U21 level too but always as more of a double - i.e. with someone else doing the legwork too.

I actually think we need to drop the 4141 anyway and go with a flat three where any of the midfielders drop in, or alternatively play 4231.

Diaz had just been top scorer at the Copa America, too. Was hardly an unknown quality.

Brands probably is a very good DoF. He was at PSV and now he's back at PSV as an executive and has just got £44m in for them. When he's able to run a club the way he wants to, it probably works, though we only have evidence of that from PSV, really. I always thought his approach was too casual, too laid back, though. Even if his hands were tied, which I'm sure they were, he also made mistakes.

You mean the New Iwobi that stunk the place out for 3 seasons then plays half a dozen decent games , and now being back to being really bad.

Like 5 goals in 99 appearances bad.

Atm McNeil looks equally bad.
Is Iwobi back to being 'really bad'?

I mean, he isn't.

He's also not the saviour or top quality player some make him out to be.

He's pants mate , had a little purple patch & reverted to type.
Well I don't agree, he's pretty much our only creative outlet and Lampard has decided to move him out of the role he was playing in at the start of the season (first in front of the defence so he saw loads of the ball, then in the left advanced channel - where bizarrely he keeps playing Onana and now even Gueye!!).

That being said we need better from him and all the players because in the last few games they have all been crap.

It's not to say he's brilliant, I just don't think he's one of the main problems.
