January Transfer Window 2023

He's not yet ready for a 6 role in the PL mate, but we can't know if he suits another role until he comes back, annoyingly.

I don't think we sell more than one of those players in January and we won't be selling Pickford next month.

Kean money is guaranteed to come in this calendar year - i.e. before start of July - so it will already have been earmarked for this accounting year.
Not being funny or confrontational but wasn't he player of the year for Forest playing as a6? If not they really did rave about him there i thought

Its up to the manager to get a tune out of players.

We can sit here for HOURS and pinpoint the weaknesses of all our players, but we have, at 1 point seen all our players have some very good games.

Yes, part of being a "bad" player means you are very inconsistent, but a good manager gets some of the players playing some of the time.

It pains me going all in on Frank, cos honestly, I dont hate him, I just think hes more of a problem currently then a solution.

We could very well appoint a new manager and the same weak arse player issue exists, but its easier to change a manager than a squad of players.
While I believe we definitely should spend whatever money is available on forward options, ultimately I have failed to see the team improving under him.

Not trying to back the players up here, cos as everyone can see we truly are awful. But they are probably taking more of the blame then they should be ( Which is a hard thing to say when watching them )
but we are not setting up and playing a system to suit the ( little ) strengths they do posses. We have 2 very quick wingers and with Patterson a very quick right side, yet we always play slowly from the back or once we get the ball in to the centre of the pitch we slow the play down so much that we're always facing 11 men in half the space so obviously defeats the speed strength.
We play Maupay as a target man. Its not his fault, but we may aswell be playing with 10 men.
As for Mcneil, the lad was obviously brought in to put the ball on dom's head. There is no Dom ( he'd be better off taking the ball to the physio room to place it on his head )

As for substitutions. Whether we have a good bench or not, when things are going this bad you need to try and change things up at times. But no we leave it till the last 5mins like were trying to run time down.

We have no plan B, in fact we hardly have a plan A

Don't think we've got anything to me spend so this window we'll be looking at a loan to strengthen forward line.

Issue is we'll have to wait until the end of the window as teams will not let players out on loan until they know they can afford to let the player go.

So I think we'll go all of January with just Maupay/DCL as our strikers

Gyokeres
Moura (loan)
Lascelles

That would be a good window (and realistic).
Is it ?

Gyokeres is at least £20 million ( we don't have that)
Not sure what Lascelles cost but doubt he's free and why would we get another centre back ?

He wouldn't get in the team ahead of Tarks/ Coady

Then he'd be fighting to be next back up against Godfrey, Mina , Holgate & Keane

Unless some of our centre backs are moving on this window I can't see us bringing another in

We need

A left back
3 centre midfielders
2 Wingers
2 centre forwards

What well probably get is striker on loan from somewhere and that's about it

Tend to agree the set up is wrong and they aren't giving everything, new manager

On the basis that Lascelles can sprint I'd maybe consider playing him over either CB

What do you like about Garner? Is it his inability to break into the weakest Everton midfield in living memory? He’s a championship player that hasn’t shown anything to suggest he can hack the premier league.
Or the fact he wasn’t match fit, and then picked up an injury

Madness to write the guy off already, plus regarding weakness of midfield might I remind you of Heitinga and Neville in CM positions
