In reality if it comes down to either Coventry lad or Brereton, it needs to be both as we need 2 strikers. However I'm not sure pinning all our hopes on two lads from the league below is necessarily wise.

It's more to do with who we can structure any deals with, we are shopping in a limited market I'm afraid.

Correct this window is different too there were no distractions for six weeks it's why other teams have deals done already, we should have boxed off a few players already too. But Everton will be looking at the books and trying to save a few weeks wages in January and worrying about how they meet Coventry's valuation, give up and one of our rivals swoops in, then they panic loan someone trash at the last minute. Our club is run like it's still 1994 and I suspect we will be in the mud throughout this season we will be very lucky if we don't go down this season!

Yep should have deals ready for 1st January but we all know its going to be the end of the window which is to late to save this season. Horrible club to support these days, so predictable and pointless. Just waiting for the ground to go belly up next, probably end up going to the RS! It would be soooo Everton.

The problem is, we are tying him down to a deal that pretty much guarantees he’ll be leaving the club in 5 years for nothing. There is quite simply no chance anyone pays a fee for him and matches his current wages. If we go down we’re taking him on £100k a week with us.

Yeah look I think if he's getting £100k a week it's daft.

I'd be offering him the same terms, perhaps with more incentives, but just on a two-year extension.

FWIW any deal now that is struck with any player is going to have relegation clauses in, which makes the whole signing players thing even more difficult.

Moving late on targets appears to be a new strategy with thelwell...onana was a late move after west ham made the initial approach. Maupay move was also late whilst it was clear he had no intention of staying at brighton or brighton had no intention of offering him an extension, and we tried a late move on morgan gibbs-white after initial approach from forest. It appears that we are doing the same this time around. We were probably in for cunha as soon as wolves went in but with the fee required probably backed out from the deal. It will be the same for gyokeres and/or brereton diaz. They're trying to look like they're in control but clearly our results would suggest otherwise.

Its more a case of relying rather than trusting. Keep saying it's not his fault he's injured. State of some folk in here.
