He did for a bit. Looked a class act at times but that injury did for him. Think also when we lost Gueye he was a bit exposed with his lack of pace. Clearly in a less physical league he can probably do a job.

Yeah this was my thinking. They won't be able to agree a pre contract because of our option to extend a further year. Unless we've already told him he's gone in the summer.
Which would be stupid as teams seem to be interested in him and we could potentially sell him and recoup some money back on him and save the wages if we sell him this month.
I also wouldn't be suprised if we have told him he can go in the summer because we have a transfer plan to not actually sell players, we just let them leave on a free.

We had lads bricking themselves that we wouldn’t be able to attract him on a perm and he’d have much bigger offers.
