My main point to all this was our owner, Chairman and board allowed us to go into a a season With 3 fit forwards, 2 championship Standard and the other a kid. I was merely pointing out including the 2 injured it was a cheap forward line and you pay for quality.

It was well know dom was out for 8/9 games and the board did nothing Untill deadline day and 4 or 5 games had past, when they bought another championship forward in for 12mil

We went in relying on Dom staying fit, Gray to hit consistency and/or Gordon/McNeil to hugely improve their goal/assist return
No wonder we can’t score enough

Everyone has different ideas but for me it would even make the top half dozen priorities.

Even if we bought/loaned another striker and wide player would you agree that the squad is improved with Simms return ? I’ve no idea if we’ve got any money and bring Everton it’s possible we haven’t but I wouldn’t read too much into it .

Dunno about anyone else.. but I reckon the bigger need is for a creative attacker/right-sided forward.

I think our stats for chance creation are actually okay.

We need goalscorers.

Nah you're wrong mate.

Get a right back in and a goalscoring striker and we're golden.

Still need a goalscoring winger we need more goals in the team the last thing we need is more defenders

I certainly don’t think he’s the answer but I think he’s big , strong and looks to have at least a bit of pace , in short a handful. so late on in games gives us an out ball and an option .

We can expect DCL to make it through the season without injury so even if we bring one in , what harm does having Simms there do ? I personally wouldn’t have loaned him when we had no cover , do I think he’s the answer absolutely not but the More options the better for me.

He will give Lampard the option to take DCL off early and replace with another more direct CF. Simms is s finisher too.

He eases the burden on DCL. Seemed like a no brained to me. We can put all the money into a wide forward creative type.
