No I agree it’s unlikely but it’s something I think we should at least try.

He’ll get goals, he creates problems for the opposition, carry the ball well, win free kicks high up the pitch. Pretty much all of which we’re currently lacking. With only 6 months left he’s attainable.

Again, I’m not sure he’d come. But he’s a much better option than loaning in Elanga- who we’ve been linked with a few times recently
I’d love him here! I think that if he was available there’d be more attractive offers on the table for him though

Maupay is a good player, the runs he makes are very good, the issue is, we haven’t a midfielder who can pick out a pass in between or behind the defence. I think that’s the issue more than maupay being a bad player as such
Yeah I tend to agree. Whilst Maupay doesn’t seem to have any stand out qualities, he can’t be as bad as we are making him look. He even managed to bag around 9/10 goals a season for Brighton. He’d be lucky to get 5 in this team. Halland would struggle to score 15 a season with this team behind him. Its appalling from a creative sense.

You understand a release fee is a bad thing for a club to have in players contracts right?
It depends on the player Zat, it's only really worth it at the top level of players where they are likely to get their value, and yes I do understand there is a downside as you can get stuck with a player then the only way to get rid is to run down the contract - Sander Berge is a good example, easily a PL player but nobody is paying £40m for a championship player (thats his release fee)

We were in the mix for Caicedo before he went to Brighton mate and Mitoma was signed from a University team, which shows you how extensive their scouting network reaches.
I read somewhere recently that Brighton’s actual scouting network wasn’t that extensive , but that they cast their net far and wide by reviewing footage of matches from many countries and then focussing in on highlighted players. Anyway, they’ve certainly achieved results.
