Last time I looked, Ings was still Villa's top goalscorer this season and is still popular with the fans. Villa won't be letting him go anywhere on loan and £10m wouldn't even be countenanced. They may consider taking a moderate hit on the £25m+ they paid for him and get his £125k a week off the books if they identify a top class striker who'd be willing to join a non-CL team but thats a stretch at the moment.....

That's fine.

But when you're 'creative' players are Gordon, McNeil, Gray and Iwobi - who is creative of course but rather erratic to say the least - then you know... it's not great.
No, it's not great - but is he really getting the optimal performance from each of them? I don't expect miracles, but 9 defeats in 12 gets you the sack at any club with any pretence of ambition. The argument that the likes of Gordon has hamstrung Frank doesn't really stack up when Frank made a huge play of keeping what he called a "special" player. So he must have rated him. If he didn't, he'd surely have looked to sell. If he did rate him, his judgement must be called into serious question if he is getting all he can out of him...

Doubt we can afford him

Think this is where you might be going wrong…
