Pretty clear we are just praying a striker and get us out of things. No mention whatsoever of a creative / playmaker type. We could sign Haaland and it wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference if we can’t get the ball within ten yards of him.

This is absolutely it

We will go down if this problem isn't addressed - we simply don't create anything. The data tells us that we are one of the least creative teams in the league.

We have only scored one goal from open play in the league since October, and that was the worldy that Gray scored against City which come off once in a blue moon. That isn't because our strikers are dreadful (although tbf they largely are), it's because we aren't giving them chances to finish in the first place.

A change in manager would probably make a difference, but we are spectacularly lacking in creativity and it's arguably our biggest problem on the pitch

Nothing will change until we bin Lampard off and actually get a manager who knows how to attack. Where are the wingers? Where are the overlapping fullbacks? Where are the crosses? We don’t have anything through the middle so why doesn’t Frank utalise the flanks? Poor manager

Danjuma to return to England amid PL interest

Arnaut Danjuma will return to England on Wednesday to continue talks with Premier League clubs over a loan move from Villarreal until the end of the season.

Everton, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest are three clubs keen on bringing Danjuma in.

However, Villarreal granting Danjuma permission to speak to clubs has generated further interest and the forward will make his decision over the next few days.
Danjuma will not be involved in Thursday night's match against Real Madrid.

Souce: SSN.

Southampton closing on Villarreal's Jackson

Southampton are working towards a permanent deal for Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson, according to The Athletic.

Villarreal are holding firm in their €20m (£17.7m) valuation of the 21-year-old, but Southampton are now getting closer to an agreement with the LaLiga club, having previously been in talks over a six-month loan deal with an option to buy.

Southampton are also making progress towards agreeing personal terms with Jackson.
Jackson is keen on a move to the Premier League side, with his representatives exploring options for Southampton to reach Villarreal’s asking price.

Linked with that lid in the summer.

This is part of the reason we need to change - I think the full backs are next to useless attacking and especially crossing, but I'm not having that Gray and Mcneil would be as bad at "beat your man and whip it in" as they are at "cut inside and run into blind alleys". I'd actually venture that they'd both be quite good at that. That plays to Calvert Lewin's only strength!!

Think it’s the only way forward with what we have tried already not working.

A solid back 4 with Godfrey left back then two strikers up top.

And this is why I think someone like Dyche wouldn't be a bad option for the next few months. Someone just needs to try something different and who knows what could happen. Hopefully this is the plan with another big striker being our main rumoured targets.

I think Digne on loan if they'd be willing so on the occasions we need to play 3 at the back, he can give us a creative outlet. Though I imagine Villa don't feel safe enough yet
