Goalkeeper position is sorted: Pickford & Virginia.

Full back positions will need addressing in the summer at the latest with Ashley Young turning 39 and Coleman surely hanging up the boots. In January, I’d look at a versatile full back who can play both sides (eg Kyle Walker-Peters).

Centre back is fine for now: Tarkowski and Branthwaite first choice, with Keane & Godfrey as backup.

Midfield is OK. Onana, Gueye (away for AFCON), Doucoure, Garner, plus Harrison played in the AM slot recently. Add in Dele, Onyango & Gomes as emergency backup. We can get by until the summer, but if a good option becomes available, we should go for it.

Wide positions are fine for now: McNeil, Harrison, Danjuma, Young, and maybe Dobbin in those areas. Again, will need to address in the summer with Harrison & Danjuma only here on loan and Young turning 39.

Forward position is sorted: DCL, Beto and Chermiti.

Think we will try get gomes out dele wont play because of money onyango aint close to be good enough. Same out wide for me we need another option would prefer dobbin loan for starting games.

I mean we haven't set any price, but 75-80m would be the top end for the fee we will receive next Summer.

80m is the world record for a defender, as good as he is, I will be shocked if we get more than that. Talk of 100m is Fantasyland.

£75m would make him the 3rd most expensive defender ever which is not bad for a 21 year old who has no caps yet. I hope he stays for a while longer but I agree with you in that its a lot of money for a defender.

Wouldn't be messing around too much with this squad given we have probably have no cash flow.

Still paying for Dele and Gomez who have been nowhere near the first team yet. Not to mention Chermiti, Danjuma, Keane and Godfrey.

If we can find a decent centre-back to compete with Tarks and Branthwaite that would be my first choice - then perhaps a left-back to push Myko. We need to keep that solid base for survival.

When all the loans go back at the end of the season, we will still have a squad bloated by mediocrity. For me, getting rid of the players who aren't going to be near the first 11 and aren't going to resign contracts is the most important thing to do - getting rid of anyone in that bracket in Jan would be massive (Gomes, Keane, Godfrey, even Danjuma perhaps).

Then IF we can get shut, bring in young (not Ashley) replacements to replace. easy, right??? lol

i think he's a one season wonder... and would prefer someone younger, with more time to develop to supplement our starting 11. I am not sure Cornet has it in him, hes been injured for like ever...! We don't have a big enough squad for anymore passengers.

We can speculate as much as we want but we have no real clue how much money or room we have according to financial rules.

For all we know, we could be banking on getting Gomes and Dele off the books in January and if we can’t, we might need to sell someone else to make up that shortfall.

Alternatively, we could have new owners who can find or borrow some money and financial rules allow us to buy a few players or fill our loan spots.

Nobody really knows besides those in the club and at present, I don’t think we NEED anyone to come in unless we get injuries.

For me, we don’t have time to wait for the next best thing. We need a decent CB in as backup now. Someone better than Keane and Godfrey that doesn’t need time to develop (like branthwaite did).

Agree we need a CM in for when Gana goes to AFCON. As an injury to Onana or Garner and we are stuck with Doucs there which changes our shape a lot.
